by Shari Barrett
- Aug 2, 2014
Any actor can tell you what his or her dream role would be and how much they long to play it whenever they can. For Rocky Miller, his 20-year wait to play Don Quixote was well worth it as he fully embodies the heart and soul of Miguel de Cervantes and his Knight of the Woeful Countenance from the moment he takes to the stage in MAN OF LA MANCHA at the San Pedro Theatre Club, directed with emotional depth by Drew Fitzsimmons and choreographed for the small stage by Victoria Miller.
BWW Reviews: Laughter Abounds During TWELFTH NIGHT at Carlson Park in Culver City
by Shari Barrett
- Jul 20, 2014
While there is speculation that Twelfth Night was written for the 12th night of Christmas by request of Queen Elizabeth, a holiday which celebrates revelry by turning the world upside down, with masks, music, dance, celebrating a moment where servants are masters, masters are servants, and not all seems as it should be. While there is no proof for this speculation, it was certainly the author's and this production's comic inspiration.

BWW Reviews: CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF Presented With Tennessee Williams Original Script at Theatre Palisades
by Shari Barrett
- Jun 16, 2014
CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF was always the playwright's favorite among all his plays. Theatre Palisades is presenting the original version of the script as written by Tennessee Williams before Eli Kazan, who was already hired to direct both Broadway and the film version, forced him to re-write the script to conform to the mores in McCarthy era 1955. This compelling original version has been professionally produced only two times, in 1958 in London and in 1974 on Broadway with Elizabeth Ashley, Keir Dullea and Fred Gwynne.

Michael Anthony Alberta Releases New Book on Tattoos and Piercings
by Christina Mancuso
- May 19, 2014
Michael Anthony Alberta, controversial new author and artist, writes 'Body Art Learner's Guide' - a technical manual for artists learning how to tattoo, pierce, and perform entry level body modifications. Body Art (tattooing, piercing, and body modification) is now officially recognized as both an art form and a profession. Athletes, businessmen, and even law enforcement personnel increasingly choose body art as a means of self-expression. It's clear skills vary widely among people who perform Body Art. An individual's level of education and guided practice determines ones skill. Michael Anthony Alberta guides you through the basics, encouraging to practice them over and over again so that after mastering the primary skill set, readers can then advance to more sophisticated techniques coming out in Volume 2. The main reasons Mike wrote 'Body Art Learner's Guide' is to further the goals of 'rookies' whose ambitions are to make a positive impact on the trade, remind veterans what our trade standards are, and break-down the corrupt educational system that's been plaguing this trade for decades.
According to Michael, for the aspiring body artist, the ideal path to refine ones skills is finding a noble artist, 'noble' meaning willing to take on an apprentice in exchange for free work around the shop. However, points out that some of these 'teachers' will just milk apprentices for their time and teach them little to nothing about body art. Although it violates the unwritten body art code of ethics and blacklists you from the mainstream body art media, he firmly believes this law is flawed and this information should be available with or without a formal apprenticeship. Now that body art is jolting the mainstream, there's a surplus of cheap apprentice labor, and a lot of shops are exploiting these young adults by keeping them around just to sterilize and clean the shop. Some shop owners go so far as to humiliate their 'maintenance man' in front of clients. Michael Anthony Alberta wrote this book for both of them; for the student to build a firm foundation without being subjected to such treatment and for the crooked shop owner who knows how hard it is to work in this field and uses that to screw people over.
'It's all there- the whole enchilada' - Steve Santa Cruz CEO and Founder of Empire Tattoos Worldwide.
'I require all my artists to read this book and answer a series of questions prior to getting hired' - Ruslan Yeshmekov
'I wish I can go back in time and terminate your parents before you were born to prevent this from being written' - Most Old School Artists and Shop Owners
Body Art Learner's Guide ( ISBN 9781483402437 ) is available in paperback or eBook almost everywhere books are sold including Barnes and Noble, Kindle, Apple, Amazon, EBay, Etsy, Lulu and more.

Dynamic Body Art Institute Launches New Website
by Christina Mancuso

Dynamic Body Art Institute's newest mission is to unify all walks of life through the crafts of Body Art. The Institute is essentially using body art as a vehicle to introduce exotic terms like sacred geometry and transhumanism into the lexicon of popular culture. There is a powerful subculture emerging out of tattooing, piercing, and body modification. Fueled by its social activism and human enhancement elements, this trade is radically transforming into gateways to things people may or may not be ready for. The question is how far are humans willing to go?
About the Institute's Founder- Michael Anthony Alberta is formally educated in various forms of body work, body art, and subtle energy. His training led him to recently produce a medicinal modality with an accompanying software application and author 2 books around these topics within the past few months. The first one is titled Body Art Learners Guide. The second, Leaving a Mark. Michael also originated Quantum Body Jewelry with David Sereda of Light Stream Technologies. Michael Anthony Alberta's research into geomancy, symbolism and human vortex points allowed him to articulate a system for not only their application, but marking the body in general.
