Malcolm Gets (Tony Award nominee for Amour) and Ted Keegan (Star of Broadway's Phantom of the Opera) have joined the lineup for the Encompass New Opera Theatre (Nancy Rhodes, Artistic Director) gala to honor legendary Broadway performer BARBARA COOK and lyricist LEE ADAMS (Bye Bye Birdie, Golden Boy, Applause) with a star-studded musical salute on Sunday, October 25.

The Dramatists Guild of America is pleased to announce their Third National Conference, Writing the Changing World, which will be held from July 16-19, 2015 at the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines in La Jolla, CA. The conference will include keynote speeches, legal and business seminars, workshops, panels, and conversations with theatre elite. A total of 35 established and emerging writers, composers and lyricists will converge on the Goodspeed campus this month to participate in the first-ever Johnny Mercer Writers Colony at Goodspeed Musicals. The writing teams, representing more than twenty new musicals, will populate the campus, creating a truly exciting environment for discovery and inspiration.

I am not given to gushing but, with apologies for doing so, I am about to gush. You see, on Saturday evening, I felt very privileged. For on that night, I went to Las Vegas' gorgeous Smith Center for the Arts and saw Stephen Sondheim: A Life In The Theater, An Evening of Music and Conversation.
