BWW Interviews: Faith Kelm, This Dancer's Life

Faith Kelm, clearly, is one of Nashville's most versatile dancers, able to take on any role and make it her own. That much was obvious the very first time I saw her onstage, playing Carmen in Circle Players' production of Fame, The Musical during the summer of 2009. She's only gotten better since then. Now in college, pursuing her education (she's a musical theater major at Pittsburgh's Point Park University) as she pursues her dreams, she still makes time for visits home, to see friends, to perform in shows and, of course, to dance.

Kravis Center Hosts World Premiere Of 'Steven Caras: See Them Dance'

The Kravis Center for the Performing Arts will host the world premiere of the new public TV documentary STEVEN CARAS: SEE THEM DANCE on February 24. Presented by Arizona PBS, the film concerns the life and work of Mr. Caras, a former New York City Ballet dancer, who transformed his career to become one of the world's most renowned dance photographers. Currently a resident of West Palm Beach, Caras is also a published author, guest lecturer, ballet master and founding chairman of the Randolph A. Frank Prize for the Performing Arts in Palm Beach. Mary Murphy to Return to 'So You Think You Can Dance'; Mia Michaels to Depart

After one season away from the hit Fox television show 'So You Think You Can Dance', choreographer and television personality Mary Murphy will be returning to judge for the eighth season. She joins Nigel Lythgoe and Adam Shankman; Mia Michaels, who had replaced Murphy for the show's seventh season, is expected to take part in recurring guest spots, but will no longer be a permanent judge.

The Creative Arts Emmy Awards took place on August 21 in Los Angeles. Hosts for this event include Glee's Jane Lynch & Ryan Murphy, Dexter's John Lithgow & Clyde Phillips, Mad Men's Christina Hendricks & Matthew Weiner, Lost's Elizabeth Mitchell & Damon Lindelof, Modern Family's Rico Rodriguez & Steve Levitan and SNL's Seth Meyers & Andy Samberg.

SPIDER-MAN Announces Complete Cast!

Lead producer Michael Cohl today announced the complete cast for SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark, which begins rehearsals this morning. Directed by Julie Taymor and featuring a book by Julie Taymor and Glen Berger, and new music and lyrics by Bono and The Edge, SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark will begin previews at Broadway's Foxwoods Theatre (213 West 42nd Street) on November 14, with opening night set for December 21.

Jacob's Pillow Welcomes Jacoby & Pronk, 7/21-25

In an exclusive engagement, independent contemporary ballet duo Jacoby & Pronk will perform at Jacob's Pillow with four other international dance stars, July 21-25 in the Doris Duke Theatre. Drew Jacoby and Rubinald Pronk performed with leading contemporary ballet companies before eschewing the typical dancer's career path to become freelance artists, touring as an independent duo and appearing as guest artists with companies such as the Dutch National Ballet and Morphoses. The duo will perform an excerpt of Christopher Wheeldon's Rhapsody Fantaisie, three world premieres by Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Leo Mujic, and Lauri Stallings, and a pas de deux by Hans van Manen. Jacoby and Pronk are joined in this engagement by fellow international dance stars David Hallberg of American Ballet Theatre; former member of Nederlands Dans Theatre Shirley Esseboom; dancer/choreographer Leo Mujic (Béjart Ballet Lausannet, Ballett Frankfurt, Paris Opera Ballet); and Victor Mateos Arellano of Dresden SemperOper Ballett. Short films directed by noted photographer and filmmaker Alvin Booth, starring Jacoby and Pronk, serve as interludes between works.

Twelve former SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE show favorites are set to return to summer's No. 1 series as All-Star Dance Partners. Skilled in various dance styles from Krump to Contemporary, the Season Seven All-Star Dance Partners are: Stephen 'tWitch' Boss, Comfort Fedoke, Courtney Galiano, Anya Garnis, Lauren Gottlieb, Neil Haskell, Allison Holker, Mark Kanemura, Pasha Kovalev, Kathryn McCormick, Ade Obayomi and Dominic 'D-trix' Sandoval. Each week, finalists will be partnered with a different All-Star dancer.

Emmy Award-winning choreographer Mia Michaels and acclaimed director and choreographer Adam Shankman will return to SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE as the series' resident judges. Michaels - who has been a guest judge and choreographer on SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE since its first season - will sit alongside Shankman and Nigel Lythgoe as the new judge and draw upon her expertise to critique and praise the dancers throughout the competition.
