Rebel Playhouse presents World Premiere of LOUDMOUTH, A Show Empowering Children To Use Their Own Voices

The Tank (Meghan Finn and Rosalind Grush, Artistic Directors) in association with Rebel Playhouse is thrilled to present the World Premiere of LOUDMOUTH, a new devised show for young audiences, directed by Suzannah Gratz and Clara Kundin with choreography by Phoebe Rose Sandford, at The Tank's new home at 312 West 36th Street. Performances will be Thursday, November 16 at 6:30pm, Friday, November 17 at 6:30pm, Saturday, November 18 at 10am, and Sunday, November 19 at 2pm. Weekend shows will be followed by an optional workshop for kids. Tickets ($30 for adults; $20 for children) are available for advance purchase at www.thetanknyc.org.

Ehrenkranz Artistic Director Jane Moss today announced Lincoln Center's 2017 White Light Festival, which runs from October 18 through November 15. With more than 35 events presented in 13 venues throughout the city, including U.S. and New York premieres and nine commissions, the eighth annual international festival will explore transcendence, interior illumination, and faith in the human spirit, as exhibited through artistic expression across continents and centuries. The multidisciplinary festival takes its name from a quotation by Estonian composer Arvo Part: "Icouldcomparemymusic to white light, which contains all colors. Only a prism can divide the colors and make them appear; this prism could be the spirit of the listener."

The American Dance Festival (ADF) will present the 2018 Samuel H. Scripps/American Dance Festival Award for lifetime achievement to acclaimed choreographer, Ronald K. Brown. Established in 1981 by Samuel H. Scripps, the annual award honors choreographers who have dedicated their lives and talent to the creation of modern dance. Celebrated dancer, choreographer, and teacher Dianne McIntyre will present the $50,000 award in a brief ceremony on Thursday, June 28th at 8:00pm, prior to the performance of Evidence, A Dance Company at Reynolds Industries Theater.
Limon Dance Co. presents LIMON and Other New Works at CCNY

The enduring legacy of pioneering dancer-choreographer Jos Lim n will be feted at Aaron Davis Hall as the Lim n Dance Company brings two of his most acclaimed works to Harlem audiences for the first time on Tuesday, October 24. The program, presented by City College Center for the Arts (CCCA) and the Jos Lim n Dance Foundation, will also present bold new works from three rising stars of the dance world. The evening's program also has the distinction of serving as the Company's first public performance in Harlem following their move to the Everett Center for the Performing Arts in the storied New York neighborhood two years ago.

Following its critically acclaimed Mostly Mozart Festival debut in July, the Young People's Chorus of New York City (YPC) performs with Meredith Monk in Dancing Voices at Lincoln Center's White Light Festival. This multidimensional, multiperceptual program of the composer's music is presented in three concerts on Friday, October 20 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, October 21 at 3:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at the Gerald W. Lynch Theater at John Jay College.
Meredith Monk to Receive 24th Annual Dorothy & Lillian Gish Prize

The Gish Prize Trust today announced that the widely influential, utterly inimitable Meredith Monk has been selected to receive the 24th annual Dorothy and Lillian Gish Prize, in recognition of her ongoing achievements as a composer, singer and interdisciplinary artist. Established in 1994 through the will of legendary stage and screen actress Lillian Gish, known as the First Lady of Cinema, the Dorothy and Lillian Gish Prize is one of the most prestigious honors given to artists in the United States and bears one of the largest cash awards, currently valued at approximately $250,000.
