All little girls have a favorite Disney princess. Today, it's either Elsa or Anna, but for women who are still girls at heart, their princess could be Belle or Jasmine.
For me, my princess is Ariel.

'What the hell's the point of being president if you can't do what you know is right?' That single statement, made by President Lyndon Johnson, sums up the theme of ALL THE WAY; a new play by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Robert Schenkkan, now playing at ZACH Theatre. Winner of the Tony Award for Best Play, ALL THE WAY examines the period between Kennedy's assassination and Johnson's landslide reelection on November 3, 1964. ALL THE WAY is the first of two plays by Schenkkan on Johnson's presidency. The second part, THE GREAT SOCIETY, continues the Johnson story from 1964 to 1968.

On Tuesday night, Sister Act: The Musical opened at Tennessee Performing Arts Center in Nashville. Based on the 1992 movie of the same name, the musical has music by Alan Menkin and lyrics by Glen Slater. If you are a fan of the movie, you'll see many of your favorite moments, along with a few new things to keep you interested. If you don't know the movie, you'll meet a lively cast of characters and get a story full of laughs.
Based on the hit 1992 of the same name, the musical version of SISTER ACT just might be more entertaining in a lot of ways. Since the star of the film, the multi-talented Whoopi Goldberg, is producing it as well, that might explain why it has a certain darkness around the edges. In any event, the current production playing the Fox Theatre (though December 1, 2013) is an inspirational delight.
With its consistent sense of humor, dazzling costumes, and powerhouse voices, this touring company of SISTER ACT delivers a delightfully sassy night of musical theatre.
