Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts at Brooklyn College continues its 2015-16 season today, November 14, 2015 at 2pm with the return of three-time Amateur Night at the Apollo winners Black Violin.  Celebrating the September 18, 2015 release of their newest album, Stereotypes, this classically trained violin duo inspires young people to get fired up about classical music with their unique fusion of classical, hip-hop, jazz, blues, and R&B. Recommended for ages eight and up.  Tickets are $18 and can be purchased at BrooklynCenter.org or by calling the box office at 718-951-4500 (Tue-Sat, 1pm-6pm).

Revelations Celebration on the Plaza Workshop: Participants of all ages will be given a rare opportunity to take part in a grand dance workshop celebrating Alvin Ailey's signature American masterpiece,Revelations. Ailey master teacher and former Company member Nasha Thomas-Schmitt will teach movements from three distinctive sections of Revelations: “I've Been 'Buked,” “Wade in the Water,” and “Rocka My Soul.” Live music with a drummer and singers will be featured at the event.

The enduring music of Burt Bacharach is given new life as musician and actor Kyle Riabko (Spring Awakening, Hair) performs his unique, soulful arrangements of the Bacharach songbook with an eclectic group of young musicians and performers. Steven Hoggett, whose choreography has been featured in such diverse works as Once, Peter and the Starcatcher, andBlack Watch, returns to NYTW, this time as director. What's It All About? is a re-introduction to the timeless music of Bacharach through the eyes and ears of a new generation.

On Monday, September 9th, during New York Fashion Week, DKNY celebrated its 25th anniversary with a birthday bash that featured special live performances by Rita Ora followed by surprise guest sets from Iggy Azalea, A$AP Rocky and A$AP Ferg. The multi-talented music sensation and independent artist Jade Novah released her first single 'Show Out' from her highly anticipated debut album, 'In Search Of Me' on August 12 on iTunes. 'Show Out' was written by Novah and produced by Devin Johnson. Novah and Johnson co-wrote the entire album.
