Strange Sun Theater to Present HOT SEASON at The Black Box, Begin. 6/13

Strange Sun Theater presents the world-premiere of Evan Mueller's new play HOT SEASONDirected by Kevin J. Kittle June 13 through June 28 at The Black Box at The Sheen Center (18 Bleecker Street) in Manhattan Strange Sun Theater presents the world-premiere new play HOT SEASON by Evan Mueller (Strange Sun Co-Founder and Artistic Director), directed by Kevin J. Kittle (IN GOD'S HAT) with preview performances beginning June 13th prior to an official press opening of June 16th at The Black Box at The Sheen Center (18 Bleecker Street) in Manhattan.

Stable Cable Lab Co. to Present ACCIDENTS WAITING TO HAPPEN, 5/28-6/8

Stable Cable Lab Co. and Vera Khodasevich announce the cast and creative team for the workshop production of Accidents Waiting to Happen, a play by Jonathan Libman, directed by Padraic Lillis. Invited presentations for Accidents Waiting to Happen will begin on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at IRT Theater and are scheduled to run through Sunday, June 8, 2014. The results of the workshop production - including the actors' experience with the work, the aesthetics of the director and designers, and the audience's feedback - will be invaluable to the development of this new play. This project was developed, in part, through Kori Rushton and the IRT 3B Development Series.

Yvette Nolan Wins 2014 Mallory Gilbert Leadership Award

The Professional Association of Canadian Theatres is pleased to present the eighth annual Mallory Gilbert Leadership Award to Yvette Nolan. The award was presented at the annual PACT Conference in Fredericton, NB. Ms. Nolan was chosen from a list of 16 nominees from across Canada.

EAG and Oberon Theatre Ensemble Stages Reading of Mark Karafin's MAN IN THE MOON Tonight

The Episcopal Actors' Guild's annual celebration of new work continues with a staged reading of Man in the Moon by Mark Karafin. The reading will be held tonight, March 20 in Guild Hall at 7:00 pm, and followed by a reception. Past Barbour Award winners include Ian August (Donna Orbits the Moon), Lynn Rosen (Apple Cove), and Laura Eason (40 Days).

Welcome Moss Hart Back to Broadway - Meet the Full Cast of Lincoln Center's ACT ONE, Beginning Tomorrow!

Lincoln Center Theater presents Act One, a play written and directed by James Lapine from the autobiography by Moss Hart. The production is scheduled to begin previews tomorrow night, March 20 and will open on Thursday, April 17 at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street). Medicine Show Theatre Ensemble to Present Tennessee Williams' TEN BLOCKS ON THE CAMINO REAL, 1/3-26

Medicine Show Theatre Ensemble, one of New York's longest-running experimental theatres, will stage a production of Ten Blocks on the Camino Real by Tennessee Williams in January 2014. A preview performance is set for Friday, Jan. 3, 2014 at 8 p.m. Opening night is Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014 at 8 p.m. The show closes on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014 at 6 p.m. Curtain times are Thursdays at 7 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., and Sundays at 6 p.m. The theatre is located at 549 W. 52nd Street, 3rd Floor, near 11th Ave., subway C/E 50th St.

Sanguine Theatre Debuts Aleks Merilo's EXIT 27, Now thru 11/17

In celebration of its fourth season, Sanguine Theatre Company will produce EXIT 27, a new work by award-winning playwright, Aleks Merilo and directed by Mark Karafin. Based on a true story, EXIT 27 combines the themes of rejection, survival, and redemption in exploration of the human experience. As the overwhelming winner of Sanguine's highly competitive playwriting competition, EXIT 27 brings a stirring perspective of raw human nature in its NYC premiere.

Stephen King's GHOST BROTHERS OF DARKLAND COUNTY Musical Heads to Morris Center Tonight

AEG Live has announced that the Southern gothic, supernatural musical GHOST BROTHERS OF DARKLAND COUNTY, written by Stephen King, with music by John Mellencamp and T Bone Burnett, has confirmed a tour of 20 American cities throughout the Midwest and Southeast beginning October 10 in Bloomington, IN, and ending November 6 in Grand Rapids, MI. Ghost Brothers of Darkland County will be at the Morris Performing Arts Center tonight, November 5, at 7:30 p.m.

Bob Saget Hosts COOL COMEDY - HOT CUISINE for Scleroderma Research, Today

Actor/Comedian/Director Bob Saget will host Cool Comedy - Hot Cuisine, the signature event of the Scleroderma Research Foundation (SRF) today, November 4 at Carolines on Broadway. Saget, an SRF Board Member who lost his sister to scleroderma, will be joined in the fundraising effort bycomedians Jim Gaffigan, John Oliver (The Daily Show) and other special guests. Saget's friend and co-star from the Full House days, John Stamos (Necessary Roughness),will co-host a live auction featuring six high-end packages.
