Single tickets for McCarter Theatre's 2011-2012 fall season will go on sale to the general public on Monday, August 1st for events from September through December.

The Made At Horse Trade Series will feature two works developed through Horse Trade Theater Group's The Fire This Time Festival, Yusef Miller's Breakfast and Kelley Nicole Girod's Ambrosia, playing as a double feature August 10-29 at The Red Room (85 East 4th Street between 2nd Ave and Bowery), Monday & Wednesday at 8pm and Sundays at 3pm. Tony Award winner Ben Vereen is traveling from Los Angeles to Houston, Texas today to be a special guest performer in The Musical Theatre of Houston's JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR. Vereen will star as Pontius Pilate in a production directed and choreographed by Aaron Callies. The curtain rises for two shows August 19-20 at the Wortham Brown Theatre at 8:00pm both evenings and will include a cast of Sam Brown as Jesus, Jacqueline Grady as Mary Magdalene, and Tommie Harper as Judas.

La Jolla Playhouse presents a new adaptation of Sleeping Beauty Wakes, book by Tony Award-winning librettist Rachel Sheinkin (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), with a score by composer Brendan Milburn and lyricist Valerie Vigoda, both of the acclaimed trio GrooveLily (Striking 12, Long Story Short), and directed by Rebecca Taichman, who will also direct the Playhouse's 2011/12 world premiere of Milk Like Sugar.

La Jolla Playhouse has announced that the acclaimed Stratford Shakespeare Festival production of the musical Jesus Christ Superstar, lyrics by Tim Rice, music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, directed by Playhouse Director Emeritus and Stratford Shakespeare Festival Artistic Director Des McAnuff, will replace the previously-announced musical Finding Neverland. This thrilling revival will run in the Mandell Weiss Theatre November 18 - December 31, 2011.

Award-Winning vocalist ERIC MICHAEL GILLETT will extend his run of CAST OF THOUSANDS: Gillett Sings Carnelia at the Laurie Beechman Theatre, Mondays, July 11 & 18 & Tuesdays, August 2 & 23, all at 7pm. He will be accompanied by Musical Director Jeff Cubeta, with arrangements by Cubeta & Christopher Denny. CAST OF THOUSANDS is directed by Arthur Masella.

American Opera Projects (AOP) and Opera New Jersey reunite sopranos Lauren Flanigan and Catherine Malfitano in The Family Room, a new one-act opera written especially for them by composer Thomas Pasatieri (The Seagull ) with an original libretto by Daphne Malfitano. The dark drama tells the story of two nameless women living in a windowless studio who speak of dinner parties and relatives, of husbands and love and a child named Georgie, but their only company is ominous sounds from above.

New Georges (Susan Bernfield, Artistic Director; Sarah Cameron Sunde, Associate Director; Jaynie Saunders Tiller, Managing Director), the OBIE Award-winning downtown theater company founded in 1992, will present 'THE GERM PROJECT,' featuring the work of playwrights Kara Lee Corthron (directed by Kara-Lynn Vaeni), Lynn Rosen (directed by Shoshana Gold), Kathryn Walat (directed by Portia Krieger), and Anna Ziegler (directed by Beatrice Terry). The four 'germs' of full-length plays of scope and adventure commissioned by New Georges for this project will be presented together, fully produced, in a cohesive and satisfying ninety-minute intermission-less evening. There will be a connective thread to the pieces that will take place with visuals and storytelling. 'THE GERM PROJECT' will be performed at 3LD Art & Technology Center, 80 Greenwich Street (just south of Rector). Previews will begin on June 11, and the official Opening Night will be Monday, June 20 at 8:00 p.m. Performances will run through July 9.
