Harlem Stage's E-MOVES 18 presents New and Innovative Works

The Harlem Stage dance series, E-Moves promises to present a broad spectrum of choreographers of color who work across the spectrum of contemporary idioms. This year the acclaimed dance series has commissioned new works from two established and two emerging choreographers. Under the curatorship of Charmaine Warren, the E-Moves 18 lineup includes four artists with work that intersects the questions and impact of the world around them. Francesca Harper who continues to seek answers for life's challenges; Parijat Desai whose work is realized through her unique blend of contemporary dance and Indian forms; Kyle Marshall who quietly investigates black culture through dance; and Leyland Simmons who makes ballets that break from the classical mold.

NY-Area Libraries Host Screenings of MAYA ANGELOU: AND STILL I RISE

In partnership with the New York Public Library, Queens Public Library and Nassau Library systems, WNET has announced that up to 20 area libraries throughout the Bronx, Manhattan, Staten Island, Queens and Nassau, will host screenings of the film American Masters - MAYA ANGELOU: AND STILL I RISE.

Isn't It Romantic? Michael Feinstein to Return to The McCallum for Sold-Out Engagement

The McCallum Theatre presents Michael Feinstein and 'Isn't It Romantic' today, February 25, at 8:00pm. Michael returns with an evening of America's most romantic music from The Great American Songbook, reprised from his sold out Broadway run. Almost a million copies have been sold of his Isn't It Romantic album. Michael will be accompanied by a 17-piece band that will contrast with the beautiful piano solos for which he is known. Michael Feinstein has built a dazzling career over three decades bringing the Great American Songbook music to the world. From 5 Grammy nominated albums to Emmy nominated PBS specials, acclaimed NPR series, and concerts at The White House, Buckingham Palace, Hollywood Bowl, Carnegie Hall and Sydney Opera House, his work as an educator and archivist define Michael as a force in American music. 

The Kennedy Center Presents the Return of BALLET ACROSS AMERICA Series in April

Celebrating innovation and diversity in American ballet, the Kennedy Center presents the return of its weeklong Ballet Across America series, April 17 and April 19-23, for seven performances in the Opera House. Last seen in 2013, and illustrating the most exciting, creative dance happening across America today, this season's engagement explores new directions in the art form through programs curated by two of the biggest superstars in the ballet world: dancer-choreographer Justin Peck and principal dancer Misty Copeland.

A Wonder In My Soul runs February 10 - March 12, 2017, with the press performance today, February 17, 2017, at 7:30pm at Victory Gardens Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Avenue.

Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra Releases CONCERTOS FOR ORCHESTRA Featuring Zhou Tian, Thierry Escaich and Sebastian Currier

The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra (CSO) announces the November 17 release of its latest recording Concertos for Orchestra, the second under Music Director Louis Langree. The recording features the world premieres of three concertos for orchestra commissioned by the CSO: Zhou Tian's Concerto for Orchestra, Thierry Escaich's Psalmos and Sebastian Currier's FLEX.
