UCLA Presents Post Performance Discussion Of IVANOV On 12/6

There will be a post performance discussion on December 6 with company members, and director Dimiter Gotscheff. Moderated by renowned translator and UCLA Professor of Slavic Languages and Literature, Michael Heim. The exclusive United States production of Berlin's most prominent and revolutionary theatre, The Volksb?hne, will be presented by David Sefton's UCLA Live's Seventh International Theatre Festival in a controversial production of Chekhov's first play, IVANOV, under the direction of Bulgarian born Dimiter Gotscheff. The play will be performed in German with English supertitles.

Albee, Prince, Pierce and MORE to Honor Hagen and Berghof at NYPL

The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center has acquired the papers of renowned performers and acting teachers Uta Hagen and Herbert Berghof. The collection consists of thousands of pages of unpublished correspondence, diaries, scripts and manuscripts, photographs, clippings and other documentation relating to the dynamic theatrical careers of both Hagen and Berghof. This collection of professional and personal papers, spanning nearly 100 years of theater history, is being made public for the first time. To celebrate the bequest, the Library is planning a series of eight free public programs featuring many close friends and colleagues of Ms. Hagen and Mr. Berghof's including such figures as Harold Prince, Edward Albee, David Hyde Pierce and Eli Wallach. Programs take place in the Bruno Walter Auditorium in The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center located at 111 Amsterdam Avenue (between 64th and 65th streets). Playhouse on the Green To Present Steve Martin's 'Underpants'

Playhouse on the Green, a 54-year-old not-for-profit theater company in residence at a beautiful 228-seat jewel-box theater in the heart of downtown Bridgeport, CT, kicks off their 2008-2009 season of plays and musicals with Steve Martin's wacky adaptation of Carl Sternheim's 1911 comedy 'The Underpants.'
