The American Theatre Wing (Heather Hitchens, President) and The Village Voice (Peter Barbey, Owner) have announced the winners of the 61st Annual Obie Awards. Rajiv Joseph's Guards at the Taj, produced by the Atlantic Theater Company, received the Obie Award® for Best New American Play, which is accompanied by a $1,000 prize. Legendary actor/dancer/choreographer Carmen de Lavallade and renowned playwright A.R. Gurney each received a special Obie Award® for Lifetime Achievement. Obie and Screen Actors Guild® Award-winning actress Lea DeLaria returned as host of this year's ceremony, which was held at Webster Hall (125 East 11th Street).

 The Amazing Max, the "awesome and hilarious live magic show for the whole family" (PBS Kids) starring magician Max Darwin (aka "The Amazing Max") will return to New York this spring for 7 performances only at the Theater at Blessed Sacrament (152 West 71stStreet - just East of Broadway).  Performances begin on Sunday, April 10 and continue through Sunday, May 1.

Max Darwin, aka, 'The Amazing Max,' will perform his one-of-a-kind, interactive magic show at The Alden in McLean at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 2. Tickets are $20, $15 for MCC district residents. The Alden is located inside the McLean Community Center, at 1234 Ingleside Avenue.
