Simon Ghraichy, the acclaimed, six-foot-four Mexican-French, Lebanese-Jewish concert pianist and recording artist, returns to New York to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with a Carnegie Hall concert and a series of workshops for young NYC musicians honoring great Hispanic composers.

The Chicago Philharmonic's 2016-17 season, Love, begins with a concert exploring 'Legendary Lovers' as depicted in music. Couples including Romeo & Juliet, Ruslan & Ludmila, and Tristan & Isolde all feature. Emily Birsan and John Irvin, Ryan Opera Center alumni recently heard at the Lyric Opera, sing duets by Verdi, Bernstein, and Gounod, and the orchestra performs symphonic works by Ravel, Wagner, Glinka, and Diamond. The Belle Harmonie harp duo, featuring Krista Hagglund and Anna Hirons of the Midwest Young Artists Conservatory, will perform in the foyer before the concert.

Simon Ghraichy returns to Carnegie Hall's Zankel Hall for one night only, Friday, October 14 at 7:30PM. In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, the program, titled 'My Hispanic Heritage,' celebrates Latin American composers (Ernesto Lecuona, Arturo Marquez), Spanish composers (Isaac Albeniz, Manuel de Falla), and non-Spanish/non-Latino composers who drew inspiration from Hispanic culture (French composers Claude Debussy and Maurice Ravel).  The presenter for 'My Hispanic Heritage' is New York Concert Artists.

Vancouver Academy of Music (VAM) is thrilled to announce its new ensemble-in-residence, Koerner Piano Trio (KPT), alongside plans for an extraordinary $1-million renovation of the Academy's beloved Koerner Recital Hall- the largest fundraising effort undertaken by VAM in 40 years. Comprised of acclaimed musicians & VAM faculty leadersNicholas Wright (violin), Joseph Elworthy (cello), and Amanda Chan (piano), KPT's first public season will run November 2016 to June 2017. The trio will then continue VAM's tradition of musical excellence at the revitalized Koerner Recital Hall, which begins construction in July 2017 with an anticipated completion date of November that same year.

NEW YORK, NEW YORK (July 25, 2016)—Conducted by Semyon Bychkov in May 2016, the 13th annual Vienna Philharmonic Summer Night Concert Schönbrunn will be released on CD, DVD, Blu-Ray, and digital platforms by Sony Classical on August 12 and broadcast on PBS's Great Performances on Friday, September 30 at 9 p.m. (check local listings.). The Summer Night Concerts are presented free each year in the gardens of Vienna's Imperial Schönbrunn Palace, and Mr. Bychkov—conducting the event for the first time—led the Vienna Philharmonic in front of its largest Summer Night Concert audience ever (102,000 spectators). The performance reached an additional 585,000 people through TV and radio, having been broadcast by 83 stations on five continents.

In addition to his duties as choreographer and artistic director he is also an award winning composer - and at one time the most beloved classroom musician in the city - which goes a long way towards explaining his special appreciation for music. All of his concerts are accompanied by accomplished musicians; the fantastic pianist Melody Fader and violinist Door Na performed for this season closing run.
