Broadway's most daring, curious, and talented artists gathered at Cielo for the Fall 2013 BC Beat on Monday, November 11th, the showcase and dance party with its own rules for sharing work and connecting artists. The evening's choreographers featured: Charlie Sutton, Cindy Salgado, Caleb Teicher, Kyle Mullins, Tricia Brouk, Josh Assor, Rickey Tripp, and Jennifer Jancuska, as well as performers Daniel Watts, Jennifer Locke, Ephraim Sykes, Aurelia Michael, Voltaire Wade-Greene, Masi Yahya James, Amber Jackson, Elizabeth Burke, Macy Sullivan, Ryan VanDenBoom, Matthew Steffens, Heather Hamilton, Shiloh Goodin, Liz Piccoli, Paul Romero, Borris York, Matty Oaks and Rachel Guest. American Dance Machine for the 21st Century (ADM21) will present a benefit evening of classic musical theater dance numbers from A Chorus Line, Contact, Jerome Robbins' Broadway, 42nd Street and Promises! Promises on Monday, November 11 at New York City Center, Studio Five at 7:00 p.m. Each piece has been coached by artists intimately involved in their original productions. The evening will be directed by Artistic Director Margo Sappington and feature live music with musical direction by Eugene Gwozdz. ADM21 is a new non-profit dance company founded by Executive Director Nikki Feirt Atkins, dedicated to creating a living and vibrant archive of classic and current notable musical theater choreography.

The cast of the Walnut Street Theatre's production of 'Grease' created a music video to pay tribute to the city of Philadelphia - the birthplace of America and home of the oldest theatre in the country - just in time for Independence Day! Directed and choreographed by Adolpho Blaire, who plays Roger in the production, the video takes viewers on a tour of some of the most famous sites in the city of Brotherly Love including Love Park, Independence Hall, the 'Rocky Steps' at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and even backstage at the 204 year old Theatre. The cast goes sightseeing and eventually dances through the streets to a disco-crazed version of 'Yankee Doodle Dandy' by Paul Jabara. The original tune, incidentally, was sung by George M. Cohan himself in 1904 at the Walnut Street Theatre in 'Little Johnny Jones' before it's opening on Broadway. Click below to watch the video!

Academy Award and Tony Award nominated actress Anna Kendrick and Tony Award andGrammy Award nominated Jeremy Jordan ('Smash,'Joyful Noise) will star in the film adaptation of Jason Robert Brown's acclaimed musical The Last 5 Years to be written and directed by Academy Award nominee Richard LaGravenese. R.Evolucion Latina's 2013 BWS program is celebrating cultural exchange for the first time awarding 52 scholarships, 18 of which were given to international students from Peru and Colombia inviting them to participate in the program and join students from NYC. The educational empowerment program has been re-designed to create well rounded performing artists by immersing students in classes of the 3 disciplines that are the components of musical theatre - acting, dance and voice. Classes will take place at the National Institute of dance in Harlem and students been that have selected will commit to 2 intense weeks of training.
