It took 10 years from the time of the death of Matthew Shepard to get hate crime legislation passed. I don't want it to be another 10 years before we remind ourselves of the reasons to be kind to each other.
In October, 1998, a 21 year old man was kidnapped, severely beaten and left to die in the middle of a prairie outside Laramie, Wyoming, because he was gay. His name was Matthew Shepard. Stage Door Inc. will be performing this beautiful and moving piece and has partnered with the Matthew Shepard Foundation to collect donations during the run of the show. The Laramie Project opens on the 13th Anniversary of Matthew Shepard's tragic death, Friday, October 12, 2012 and runs, Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00pm and Sundays at 3:00pm, through November 4, 2012.

Under the guidance of industry professionals at Florida's largest award-winning professional regional theatre, area students are tackling the issue as they prepare to produce the drama The Laramie Project on the Theatre's professional stage. The show will take place at 8 p.m. tonight, Saturday, Sept. 8.

After auditioning performers in New York City, Los Angeles and Sacramento, California Musical Theatre Artistic Director Glenn Casale has announced casting for the 62nd Music Circus season, including celebrated stage and screen stars as well as audience favorites from previous Music Circus seasons.
