Tony Nominee Forrest McClendon to Star in Lantern Theatre's JULIUS CAESAR, 2/6-3/16

Lantern Theater Company, critically acclaimed in Philadelphia for their annual Shakespearean offering, presents The Tragedy of Julius Caesar as the highlight of their 20th season. Directed by the Lantern's Artistic Director Charles McMahon and starring Tony Award-nominated actor Forrest McClendon in the title role, the Lantern's production is inspired by the warrior ethos of feudal Japan, calling into question the rights of the ruler against the rights of his people. 1812 Productions to Hold Storytelling Benefit & More in Conjunction with BUNNY BUNNY

Crush: A Storytelling Benefit for Gilda's Club of Delaware Valley features a line-up of Philadelphia funny ladies telling original stories on the theme "crush." The evening will be hosted by award-winning Philadelphia storyteller Hillary Rea and will feature performances by Ms. Rea, Shannon DeVido, Cathy Simpson, Bi Jean Ngo, Anna Roisman, Juliet Hope Wayne, Emily McGraw, and Jennifer Childs. Ms. Rea says of the night's theme, 'Everyone's had a crush at some point in their life. Those initial butterflies, day dreams, and interactions with a crush are always more humorous in retrospect. Even when your heart is crushed by a crush, with some distance, there is bound to be a funny story worth telling.'

1812 Productions to Open 2013-14 Season with BUNNY BUNNY-GILDA RADNER, 9/19-10/27

1812 Productions will open its 2013-2014 season with Alan Zweibel's celebrated comedy Bunny Bunny-Gilda Radner: A Sort of Romantic Comedy. Bunny Bunny stars Leah Walton, in her 1812 Productions debut, as Gilda Radner and Barrymore Award winner Matt Pfeiffer as Alan, the play's fictional version of its own author. Matt Tallman, also making his 1812 Productions debut, joins the duo in more than 20 supporting roles.

HENRY V Extends at Lantern Theater Through April 21

Lantern Theater Company's critically acclaimed production of William Shakespeare's Henry V will be extended an additional week through Sunday, April 21 to accommodate audience demand, the fourth consecutive production of the season to be extended.

Due to overwhelming demand, Lantern Theater Company announces a second extension of the Philadelphia premiere of The Liar by award-winning playwright David Ives. Playing to packed houses since its first performance on Nov. 1, Ives' "translaptation" of Pierre Corneille's comedy classic has drawn raves. The Liar will now run through Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012.

Early popular demand has prompted Lantern Theater Company to announce an immediate extension of the upcoming production of David Ives' The Liar, an adaptation of the 1664 French comedy classic by Pierre Corneille, directed by Associate Artistic Director Kathryn MacMillan. This Philadelphia premiere by the playwright of the Lantern's smash hit New Jerusalem, The Interrogation of Baruch de Spinoza at Talmud Torah Congregation: Amsterdam, July 27, 1656 will now run from November 1 - December 2, 2012 (press opening Wednesday, November 7, 7 p.m.).
