Schulz Songs to Be Featured in All-Star Concert 'Seraphonium'

A six-time published author and now accomplished songwriter/composer, Monte Schulz, son of Snoopy/Peanuts creator Charles M. Schulz, carries on his father's appreciation for music and his talent for storytelling, with his new musical project, Seraphonium.

Cape Rep Theatre to Present LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, 11/5-12/6

Cape Rep Theatre concludes its 30th Anniversary season with the Tony-winning Jerry Herman and Harvey Fierstein musical, LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, November 5th through December 6th: Wednesdays and  Thursdays at 7 pm, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm, and Sundays at 2pm, with an additional 2 pm matinee on Saturday, November 28.  There are no performances November 8, 11, 25 or 26.  Tickets are $33-35.  Pay-What-You-Can-Night is the first Friday, November 6th. Photo Flash: First Look at West End Launch Event of MOTOWN THE MUSICAL

Yesterday (5 October), at the launch event in London for Motown the Musical, Cedric Neal (Berry Gordy) and Lucy St. Louis (Diana Ross) were announced to lead the cast in the West End production, opening at the Shaftesbury Theatre in February 2016.  With music and lyrics from the legendary Motown catalogue and book by Motown founder Berry Gordy, Motown the Musical is directed by Charles Randolph-Wright.  London previews will begin on 11 February 2016, with press night on 8 March 2016, with the show booking to 22 October 2016.

Pacific Symphony to Kick Off Season with Opening Concerts, 10/1

Orange County, Calif.—Sept. 4, 2015—Pacific Symphony and Music Director Carl St.Clair open the 2015-16 Hal and Jeanette Segerstrom Family Foundation Classical Series with Beethoven's monumental hymn to human freedom and brotherhood, his Symphony No. 9, “Choral,” featuring the soul-stirring “Ode to Joy.” This magnificent union between symphony orchestra and voices features Pacific Chorale and four world-class opera vocalists, soprano Mary Wilson, mezzo-soprano Milena Kiti?, tenor John Bellemer and bass-baritone Kevin Deas, who sing the dramatic and dynamic solo passages in the fourth movement. The program opens the orchestra's 37th season with a rare opportunity to hear “The Promise of Living” from Aaron Copland's opera, “The Tender Land,” a choral piece with a similar message of thanksgiving and neighborly love. Colorado Public Radio's classical service (CPR Classical) announces its “CPR Classical LIVE” 2015-2016 broadcast season, with 14 broadcasts of performances from five of the state's top classical music organizations. The ambitious, nine-month-long schedule features live broadcasts, as well as several recorded concerts and exclusive interviews with world-renowned conductors and musicians.
