Pontine Theatre presents it's original production, A New England Christmas, featuring original stagings of seasonal stories by three New England authors. Pontine's Artistic Directors, Marguerite Mathews and Greg Gathers, perform Christmas 1910 by Gladys Hasty Carroll, The Christmas That Almost Wasn't by Ogden Nash, and The Christmas Monks by Mary Wilkins Freeman.

The award-winning Equity professional East Lynne Theater Company's popular 'Tales of the Victorians,' now in its 26th year, is winding down its summer season. Take tea at a lovely inn, indulge in homemade tasty treats, and listen to stories by famous American authors like O. Henry, Mary Wilkins Freeman, Mark Twain, and Zora Neale Hurston, read by ELTC performers for only $10.00. Children are always welcome, and ages 12 and under are free.

The award-winning Equity professional East Lynne Theater Company's popular 'Tales of the Victorians' returns for its twenty-sixth year! Take tea at a lovely inn, indulge in homemade tasty treats, and listen to stories by famous American authors like O. Henry, Mary Wilkins Freeman, Mark Twain, and Zora Neale Hurston, read by ELTC performers and friends, for only $10.00. Children are always welcome, and ages 12 and under are free. As usual most of the 'Tales' are in Cape May, but as of last year, a North Wildwood location has been added.

Pontine Theatre presents it's original production, A New England Christmas, underwritten by Chris Dwyer & Michael Huxtable. Pontine's Artistic Directors, Marguerite Mathews and Greg Gathers, perform a selection of Christmas stories and poems by New England authors, including Mary Wilkins Freeman, William Dean Howells, Sarah Orne Jewett, Ogden Nash and more. The show combines lively storytelling and charming Victorian-style Toy Theatre Figures along with seasonal music. These charming holiday tales - in addition to holiday punch and cookies - are sure to put you in the Christmas spirit! Performances are offered Friday @7:30, Saturday @4 & Sunday @2. It has been years since he has done so, but now that his niece, Bertha, is in the house, will he dare to pass over it as though it were a common day? I've seen no preparations, heard nothing, smelt nothing. I will go this moment and investigate.'

"I wish't I knew someone to have a Christmas tree with," says Calliope Marsh to Mrs. Sykes in the small town of Friendship Village. At first, even Calliope doesn't know what she means by what she just said, but then her ideas take shape in the form of how to get the big tree in the center of town lit with electric lights for Christmas Eve.

'I will go and tend my geese! I will, I will, I will!' screamed the Mayor's daughter wearing a goose-girl costume. Usually, she was a polite, pampered child, but ever since her father threw a Christmas Eve party for all of the children in the city, she behaved like the costume she was wearing. In fact, all of the children were behaving like the costumes dictated. Paupers were princes and the privileged performed farm chores.

For eight performances only, both Western Christmas tales come to life when the award-winning Equity professional East Lynne Theater Company presents 'Christmas with Harte and O. Henry.' The dates are Friday and Saturday, Nov. 29 and 30; Sunday, Dec. 8; Thursday through Saturday, Dec. 12, 13 and 14 at 8:00p.m., with special Saturday matinees at 2:00p.m. on Nov. 30 and Dec. 14.
