East Lynne's Final 2015 Summer Tales Approaching

By:

The award-winning Equity professional East Lynne Theater Company's popular "Tales of the Victorians," now in its 26th year, is winding down its summer season. Take tea at a lovely inn, indulge in homemade tasty treats, and listen to stories by famous American authors like O. Henry, Mary Wilkins Freeman, Mark Twain, and Zora Neale Hurston, read by ELTC performers for only $10.00. Children are always welcome, and ages 12 and under are free.

The final two dates and locations are both on Thursdays at 4:00pm: August 27 at The Peter Shields Inn, 1301 Beach Avenue in Cape May, and on September 3 at Avair House by the Sea, 2400 Central Avenue in North Wildwood.

Performers at both venues are Stephanie Garrett, who was in ELTC's "Lost on the Natchez Trace" and "Rain," and Lee O'Connor, who portrays Sherlock in ELTC's radio-style "Holmes' Adventures." Stephanie and Lee enjoy performing "Tales" together and have done so successfully for the past few years. Other readers this year have included ELTC's artistic director Gayle Stahlhuth, playwright/performer James Rana, and published poet Bruce Andrews.

"Tales of the Victorians" returns on Saturday, October 24 at 8:00p.m. at The First Presbyterian Church, 500 Hughes St., where ELTC is in residence, with "Poe by Candlelight." Several ELTC actors will be reading their favorite stories by the master of the macabre just in time for Halloween.

Meanwhile, ELTC's mainstage season continues with the world premiere of "Huckleberry Finn" adapted by James Rana, through September 5. The screwball comedy "Strictly Dishonorable" by Preston Sturges, opens on September 23.
