Westport Country Playhouse: Please Join Us For Gala 2009!

Imagem Music Group, the music publishing investment fund of ABP, the Netherlands based world's third largest pension fund and CP Masters BV, one of Europe's leading independent music publishers, is pleased to announce it has signed an agreement to acquire the rights to the songs and musicals of the legendary Rodgers & Hammerstein as well as The Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization (RHO).

Pittsburgh CLO, with the families of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II and The Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization, will proudly present the 12th Richard Rodgers Award for Excellence in Musical Theater to award-winning composer and lyricist Stephen Schwartz. The ceremony will be held at the 2009 CLO Guild's Pink Frolic Ball on May 9, 2009, at the Omni William Penn Hotel.

Established in 1988, the Richard Rodgers Award for Excellence in Musical Theater recognizes the lifetime contributions of outstanding talents in musical theater. Pittsburgh CLO has presented the Richard Rodgers Award 11 times in recent years to such luminaries as Mary Martin (1988), Dame Julie Andrews (1989), Harold Prince (1991), Sir Cameron Mackintosh (1992), Stephen Sondheim (1993), Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber (1996), Gwen Verdon (2000), Bernadette Peters (2002), Shirley Jones (2007), Kathleen Marshall (2008) and Rob Marshall (2008).

Before heading to Broadway, the incomparable Mark Nadler will bring his one-man comedy-in-music adventure, 'Russian on the Side,' to the Marines Memorial Theatre (609 Sutter Street, 2nd floor) for a limited engagement beginning October 16, 2008. The New York Post is reporting that The Rodgers and Hammerstein Organization is currently undergoing a major restructuring of the company which may include a potential sale of the hundreds of titles they hold the rights to.

WABC-TV to broadcast 'A Salute to Rodgers and Hammerstein's South Pacific' on May 25th.

The cast and crew of South Pacific celebrated their opening night in style. The Rodgers and Hammerstein classic opened its first ever revival on April 3.
