Sining-Lahi Polyrepertory, the resident student theater group of Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP), will stage Yoji Sakate's 'A Contemporary Noh Play: Three Sisters' on September 1-2, 2 and 5 p.m., at PUP Theatre (COC Building along Anonas Street, Santa Mesa, Manila). Admission is free.

YELLOW SOUND LABEL has announced the new album from TELLY LEUNG, star of this season's new Broadway musical Allegiance opposite George Takei and Lea Salonga.

Amanda McBroom -- American international theater and cabaret performer and writer of the hit song, "The Rose"  -- will return to 54 Below on September 30th and October 1st at 7pm with her new show, Up Close and Personal, featuring unheard songs from her own songwriter's trunk, plus music by some of her favorite writers including Leonard Cohen, Judy Collins, Fran Landesman, John Bucchino, Jacques Brel and more.

Shakespeare & Company presented the first full American production of Red Velvet, written by Lolita Chakrabarti, directed by Daniela Varon, and starring OBIE Award-winning actor John Douglas Thompson last night and Broadwayworld's Stephen Sorokoff was there. This powerful and emotional drama joins the Tina Packer Playhouse repertory and runs through September 13. Check out photos from the production below!

Opening Night of the American screwball comedy His Girl Friday, John Guare's adaptation of Ben Hecht and Charles MacArthur's original play The Front Page and the screen version of His Girl Friday took place at Barrington Stage Co. and Broadwayworld's Stephen Sorokoff was there. Julianned Boyd artistic director of BSC was the director.

Kino Lorber is pleased to announce the U.S. theatrical premiere of HOW TO SMELL A ROSE: A VISIT WITH RICKY LEACOCK IN NORMANDY beginning tonight, August 12, at New York's Film Forum. 

Due to popular demand, Barrington Stage Company (BSC), the award-winning theatre in Downtown Pittsfield, MA, under the leadership of Artistic Director Julianne Boyd and Managing Director Tristan Wilson, had to add a second performance  for Elizabeth Stanley's "I Get Carried Away" show at Mr. Finn's Cabaret, located on the lower level of the Sydelle and Lee Blatt Performing Arts Center, 36 Linden Street, Pittsfield.

Tinkerbelle the Dog is one step closer to her Broadway dream! This weekend, she opened in the role of 'Chowsie' in Harbor Lights Theater Company's GYPSY, performed at the St. George Theater. Tinkerbelle stars alongside Tony nominee Sally Mayes, Emmy nominee and Broadway veteran Kathy Brier, and more. The Harbor Lights Theater Company (Harbor Lights), Staten Island's only professional Equity Theater Company, led by Founders and Artistic Directors Tamara Jenkins and Jay Montgomery, welcomes a cast of Broadway veterans and Tony and Emmy nominees, as well as many Staten Islanders, for GYPSY, opening tonight, August 7th, and running two weekends through August 16th in an exciting new partnership with the historic St. George Theater in Staten Island.

More than 430 Elly nominees for the 2014-15 season were announced at an informal nomination reception on Sunday, August 2, 2015 beginning at 7pm. More than 100 actors, directors, technicians, and producers were on hand to listen excitedly for their names to be called. This year's theme is How Sweet It Is and featured an assortment of brightly colored candies displayed in decorative candy jars.

The Broadway Dreams Foundation (BDF), in partnership with the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, returns to Philadelphia for a weeklong musical theater intensive, August 2-9, during which Philadelphia's most promising performers will receive unprecedented instruction from the industry's top directors, choreographers and professionals.  To conclude the weeklong intensive, BDF will present GENERATION, a unique Broadway-style revue featuring performances by Broadway veterans and emerging local talent.  

Barrington Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Julianne Boyd and Managing Director Tristan Wilson, presented Marin Mazzie and Jason Danieley in Broadway and Beyond on last night and BroadwayWorld was there. Broadway's Golden Couple shared their favorite songs from the Broadway musicals they've starred in along with selections from the Great American Songbook."

La Jolla Playhouse opens its world premiere of Up Here, a new musical comedy featuring book, music and lyrics by the husband-and-wife composing team of Robert Lopez (The Book of Mormon, Avenue Q) and Kristen Anderson-Lopez (In Transit), recipients of the 2014 Academy Award for Best Original Song for their hit song, 'Let It Go,' from the Disney animated film Frozen. Up Here is directed by Tony Award nominee Alex Timbers (Broadway's Rocky, Off-Broadway's Here Lies Love, Playhouse's Peter and the Starcatcher) and will run July 28 - September 6 in the Playhouse's Mandell Weiss Theatre. Up Here is being presented by special arrangement with Scott Sanders Theatrical Productions, along with Victor Alvarez, Warner/Chappell Music, Sally Horchow International Productions, Caiola Productions, Dominion Pictures.

Tinkerbelle the Dog (@Tinkerbellethedog) the recent social media rescue dog visiting the cast of Broadway Shows (American in Paris, It Shoulda Been You) is one step closer to her broadway dream! She was just recently cast as Chowsie in the Harbor Lights Theater Company's production of GYPSY starring Tony Award Nominee Sally Mayes. Check out photos of the pup and the cast below!

Lost in Yonkers  opened at Barrington Stage Company last night and BroadwayWorld was there. The show is running through August 1. Winner of the Tony Award for Best Play and the Pulitzer Prize, Lost in Yonkers is a heartfelt and hilarious coming-of-age story by America's great comic playwright, Neil Simon.  Jenn Thompson makes her BSC directing debut.  She is the Co-Artistic Director of The Actors Company Theatre (TACT) in NYC, where she recently directed Beth Henley's Abundance.
