Photo Coverage: Elizabeth Stanley Brings I GET CARRIED AWAY to Mr. Finn's Cabaret at Barrington Stage Company

Due to popular demand, Barrington Stage Company (BSC), the award-winning theatre in Downtown Pittsfield, MA, under the leadership of Artistic Director Julianne Boyd and Managing Director Tristan Wilson, had to add a second performance for Elizabeth Stanley's "I Get Carried Away" show at Mr. Finn's Cabaret, located on the lower level of the Sydelle and Lee Blatt Performing Arts Center, 36 Linden Street, Pittsfield.

"We're so excited to welcome home Elizabeth after her wonderful turn in the acclaimed Broadway revival of On the Townwhich she originated here at Barrington Stage," said Artistic Director Julianne Boyd. "An audience favorite, and member of the BSC family (she also starred in last summer's Kiss Me, Kate), it's no surprise that we had to add another performances for this very talented performer."

Inspired by her current role as Claire De Loone in the Broadway revival of On the Town, leading lady Elizabeth Stanley paid homage to the witty and poignant songbook of the show's creators and original stars, Betty Comden and Adolph Green. Ms. Stanley explored some of the legendary duo's unforgettable hits ("Just in Time," "Make Someone Happy") and celebrated their collaborations with some of the greatest American theatre composers. Ben Brantley of The New York Times said of Ms. Stanley: "a paradigm of refined comic exaggeration...her singing voice slides between operatic trills and lowdown purrs."

Speaking of the New York Times, it's cabaret critic Stephen Holden recently commented on Tedd Firth, Ms Stanley's music director, "Mr. Firth is the most gifted, stylistically far-ranging musical director on the New York nightclub scene." That long Bar in Mr. Finn's Cabaret has been raised once more by this latest cabaret show at Barrington Stage.
