Milwaukee Chamber Theatre (MCT) continues its 2013-2014 theatre season with the Milwaukee premiere of THE DETECTIVE'S WIFE by Keith Huff, September 18 - October 13, 2013. In addition to numerous plays, Keith Huff has written for the television series 'House of Cards' and 'Mad Men.' This one-woman show features Milwaukee favorite Mary MacDonald Kerr who was last seen at MCT in THE SWEETEST SWING IN BASEBALL. The show is also a production collaboration with the UW-Milwaukee Theatre Department. UWM professor Jim Tasse will direct and the production team members are UWM faculty and students. THE DETECTIVE'S WIFE performs in the Broadway Theatre Center's Studio Theatre in Milwaukee's Historic Third Ward.
Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey Extends A MOST DANGEROUS WOMAN Through 10/12

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey will launch the Fall portion of its 2013 Season with the world premiere of A Most Dangerous Womanwritten by Cathy Tempelsman and directed by Tony-Award winner Richard Maltby, Jr. A Most Dangerous Woman, which explores the extraordinary life of Mary Ann Evans - better known by her pen name George Eliot - begins performances on September 18 at The Shakespeare Theatre's Main Stage - The F.M. Kirby Shakespeare Theatre. Responding to the exceptional interest in this new play about the famed Victorian author, The Shakespeare Theatre has extended the run and added six performances to the schedule. Performances of A Most Dangerous Woman will now continue through October 12th.

On Friday, August 9, 2013 The Broadway Dreams Foundation presented the first annual Women in the Performing Arts Symposium, a celebration of the vibrant, creative women who share their passion through artistic expression. Sponsored by Bernstein Global Wealth Management, this first symposium focused on women who make a difference through their efforts to create, sustain, and grow performing arts education and featuring an expert panel of women taking a closer look at the current financial state of the educational and professional arts environment. Moderated by acclaimed playwright Theresa Rebeck, the panel included Anne Bucciarelli (Bernstein Global Wealth Management), Victoria Bussert (Baldwin-Wallace University), Mariann Cook (Rider University), Kaitlin Hopkins (Texas State), Barbara Mackenzie-Wood (Carnegie Mellon), Catherine McNeela (Elon University) and Amy Rogers(Pace).

Northlight Theatre Artistic Director BJ Jones and Executive Director Timothy J. Evans announce casting for the first three selections of the 2013-14 season. Northlight will open its season with the 2013 Pulitzer Prize finalist 4000 Miles by Amy Herzog, featuring Emjoy Gavino, Caroline Neff, Josh Salt and Mary Ann Thebus. The Midwest Premiere of Detroit '67 will feature Tyla Abercrumbie,Cassandra Bissell, Kamal Angelo Bolden, Coco Elysses and Kelvin Roston, Jr. Jon Jory's new adaptation of Henry Fielding's classic novel Tom Jones will include Chris Amos, Sam Ashdown, Nora Fiffer, Molly Glynn, Melanie Keller, John Lister, Cristina Panfilio, Eric Parks and Marcus Truschinski. John Mahoney and Penny Slusher will appear in the World Premiere of Chapatti.
New Book Recounts Italian Cuisine and Family Life in the 30's

Joe Famularo, who grew up with his Italian-American family in New York when the Great Depression was in full swing, recounts his youth, and how his family's love for authentic Italian food helped them weather those difficult days. The narrative of his book, Crazy for Italian Food, primarily occurs in Hell's Kitchen, on the far west side of Manhattan. At the time, the area was populated with Italian immigrant families, along with Irish, German and Jewish communities, and at that time, Italian cuisine was the most popular, as it is today.
