Music Theatre International announced the line-up for this month's annual Junior Theatre Festival Australia (JTF Australia). JTF Australia is the Southern Hemisphere's largest festival celebrating young people and the transformative power of musical theatre.

iTheatrics has restructured its company and expanded its focus to support the creation of original musicals that amplify voices currently underrepresented in theatre in complement to its work adapting Broadway and West End musicals for licensing by Music Theatre International and Concord Theatricals.

Ohlook Online, formerly Ohlook Performing Arts Center, is paving the path through this pandemic and will be launching a fully integrated online platform beginning (June 6). 'The safety of our students, actors, audience and instructors is always first on our mind,' said Jill Lord, Executive Director of Ohlook Online.

MTI is releasing the worldwide licensing rights to The Big One-Oh! Online Edition, an online adaptation of The Big One-Oh! specifically made so that the show fits onto a computer screen performed by actors working remotely.

iTheatrics, in collaboration with Academy Award-winner Dean Pitchford and Tony Award-winner Doug Besterman, will present The Big One-Oh! JR. Zoomsical Edition, a twenty-minute online adaptation of The Big One-Oh!, on Friday, April 17, at 4 pm EST on the iTheatrics Facebook Page and You Tube Channel.

The family-friendly Llama Llama Live! will be performed at the Capitol Center for the Arts  (Concord, NH) for one show only on Friday, April 17, 2020 at 4 PM.  This new musical by Bay Area Children's Theatre (BACT) is inspired by the bestselling Llama, Llama Red Pajama series of picture books by Anna Dewdney and is recommended for ages 3 and up.

Music Theatre International (MTI) Australasia in collaboration with AMICI Trust (New Zealand), OzTheatrics (Australia), and iTheatrics (New York), are presenting Junior Theater CelebrationsTM in New Zealand and Australia for thousands of musical theatre obsessed students ages 7-18. JTC New Zealand is being held at The Victory Centre in Auckland on September 13-14. JTC Australia will be held at The Civic Theatre in Newcastle on September 20-21. This is New Zealand's third annual Junior Theatre Celebration and Australia's fourth annual event.

Last week nearly 200 guests filled The Edison Ballroom to honor supporters of theater and arts education at New York City Children's Theater 2018 Gala on Tuesday, April 17th. Music Theatre International has announced the pilot launch of Newsies Jr, a 60-minute condensed adaptation of the 2012 Tony-award winning musical. The workshop, featuring a group of 40 students, will take place as part of Australia's Junior Theatre Celebration in October.

West Side Story, is a perennial favorite, partly because it's inspired by Romeo and Juliet. The musical,  with concept and choreography by Jerome Robbins, book by Arthur Laurents, lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, and music by Leonard Bernstein,  debuted on Broadway 50 years ago and was most recently revived in 2009.
