Whidbey Island Center for the Arts Presents Film Noir Style CITY OF ANGELS Tonight

The rarest of musical comedies, City of Angels is written in contemporary jazz idiom and filled with sidesplitting comedy. Set in the glamorous, seductive Hollywood of the 40's, the world of film studios and flimsy negligees, the show chronicles the misadventures of Stine, a young novelist, attempting a screenplay for movie producer/director, Buddy Fidler. City of Angels opens tonight, February 7 and runs through February 22, 2014.

Kentwood Players is delighted to present our next Kentwood Kids production, 'Mr. Potcher's Holiday,' a family musical comedy with book and lyrics by Bob Silberg, music by Barbara Klaskin Silberg. Frankenstein Junior (titolo originale Young Frankenstein) e un musical del 2007, trasposizione teatrale dell'omonimo film di Mel Brooks con musiche e liriche dello stesso Brooks, libretto di Brooks e Thomas Meehan e regia originale di Susan Stroman. La versione italiana, curata dalla Compagnia della Rancia, si avvale della regia di Saverio Marconi e Marco Iacomelli e di un cast capitanato da Giampiero Ingrassia (Frederick Frankenstein), Mauro Simone (Igor), Valentina Gullace (Inga), Giulia Ottonello (Elizabeth) e Altea Russo (Frau Blucher). Seguono Fabrizio Corucci (la Creatura), Felice Casciano (Ispettore Kemp), Roberto Colombo (Victor Frankenstein), Davide Nebbia (Abelardo), Michele Renzullo (Ziggy), Giorgio Camandona, Paola Ciccarelli, Anna Bodei e Francesca di Cresce. L'intento di queste pagine e di raccogliere i pareri della critica, pressoche concorde, relativi a questo spettacolo dal suo debutto nella passata stagione ad oggi.

The New Mel Brook's Musical Young Frankenstein will open at the Apollo Civic Theater in Martinsburg this weekend and features over twenty performers in the area premiere musical adaptation of Mel Brook's horror movie spoof. Directed by Terri Magers, musically directed by Allison Shaffer and choreographed by Shannen Banzhoff, Young Frankenstein is based on the Mel Brook's cult classic 1974 film of the same name.

Check out these production photos of the Kentwood Players' production of OLIVER!, which runs from March 16 to April 21, 2012, with performances on Friday and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 2pm at the Westchester Playhouse located at 8301 Hindry Avenue in Los Angeles, CA 90045. With music and lyrics by Lionel Bart, and based upon the novel Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens, this much-loved British musical won several Tony Awards on Broadway. The production is directed by Harold Dershimer, with musical direction by Catherine Rahm, choreography by Anna Rubin, and produced by Rocky and Victoria Miller by special arrangement with Tams-Witmark Music Library, Inc.
