Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) will celebrate its 24th year as a not-for-profit service organization with its annual gala, the TRU Love Benefit. This year's theme is Making Our Gardens Grow, recognizing three people who are each helping to change the landscape of theater in highly individual ways. The 2015 TRU Spirit of Theater Award, given to a member of the producing community who has demonstrated exceptional generosity, support and kindness to others in the business, will be awarded to producer Patrick Blake (The 39 Steps, Bedlam Theatre's Hamlet/St. Joan, Play Dead, My Life Is a Musical, The Exonerated, In the Continuum), also the founder of Rhymes Over Beats, a game-changing new hip hop theater company; the TRU Humanitarian Award will be presented to Teresa Eyring on behalf of one of American theater's pre-eminent service organizations, Theatre Communications Group (TCG); and the TRU Entrepreneur Award, given for consistency, unique thinking and innovation, will be presented to Linda Amiel Burns for 38 years of The Singing Experience, a unique cabaret workshop that helps ordinary people blossom into singing 'stars.'

DAMES AT SEA, now in previews, announces 'Tap Happy Tuesdays,' a chance each Tuesday evening for tap dancers to demonstrate their own original 30-second a cappella tap combination for Assistant Director & Choreographer Emily Morgan and everyone in Times Square.

The first Broadway production of DAMES AT SEA, beginning previews tomorrow, Thursday, September 24, will offer a student rush at the Helen Hayes Theatre box office, BroadwayWorld has confirmed. A limited number of $32 (inclusive of $2 facility fee) tickets will be available for each performance when the box office opens for that day's performance. A valid student ID must be presented at the time of purchase. Limit one ticket per transaction.

One of America's most controversial men takes center stage in a new play by Joan Beber called IN BED WITH ROY COHN. Directed by Katrin Hilbe, IN BED WITH ROY COHN opened last night, September 2nd, and will run through October 3rd at Theater Row's Lion Theatre (410 West 42nd Street). Over 100 people mobbed the Helen Hayes Theatre, stopping traffic on West 44th Street for the box office opening of the musical comedy Dames at Sea yesterday, August 31. What caused the disturbance? Under the Broadway Theater's marquee, tap dancers were competing for a chance to tap on stage with the cast of Dames at Sea during a performance.

The box office for the first Broadway production of DAMES AT SEA will open Monday, August 31, 2015 at 10am at the Helen Hayes Theatre (240 W. 44th Street, NYC).

The White Heron Theatre Company of Nantucket announces their 2015 summer season of professional repertory theatre performances including the Tony award winning play Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike directed on Nantucket by Tony award winner Martin Platt; Pulitzer prize- winning play The Gin Game; a new play by an established playwright in the Long Wharf Theatre New Plays Collaborative and impromptu pop-up theatre around the island.

Non members may submit to the TRU Voices New Musicals Series (completed musicals only) for a $25 fee. The deadline for submission is today, August 8, 2014 (deadline is extended to August 15th for TRU members and shows with a producer attached).
