FUN HOME, ECLIPSED and More Set for Southern Rep Theatre's 31st Season

Southern Rep Theatre announces its 2017-2018 Mainstage Season, featuring FUN HOME by Lisa Kron, Music by Jeanine Tesori, Based on the graphic novel by Alison Bechdel; MISS BENNET: CHRISTMAS AT PEMBERLEY by Lauren Gunderson and Margot Melcon; AND TELL SAD STORIES OF THE DEATH OF QUEENS by Tennessee Williams; ALL THE WAY by Robert Schenkkan; and ECLIPSED by Danai Gurira.

Seamus Dever, Jane Kaczmarek, Marsha Mason and More Set for LATW's 2017-18 Season

On the docket for L.A. Theatre Works in 2017-18: a season of seven audio theater productions, including an original commission of a 19th century novel about Zionism, a new docudrama about the BP oil spill, two recent Pulitzer Prize-winning plays, the revival of a cautionary tale against fascism, a romantic comedy, and a tribute to I Love Lucy - each featuring a star-studded cast. In addition, LATW will honor Woman in Gold attorney E. Randol Schoenberg and launch the company's 14th national tour.

49th NAACP Image Awards to Be Telecast Live MLK Day, January 15

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and TV One, a television network dedicated to the best of black culture and entertainment, today announced that the 49th NAACP Image Awards will be nationally telecast live on TV One on Monday, January 15, 2018, the federal holiday marking the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  The two-hour special will also include a live pre-show from the star-studded red carpet.

Sonoran Desert Chorale Announces 2017-18 Season

The Sonoran Desert Chorale has announced its 24th season, opening in the fall of 2017.  Comprised of four distinct concerts which will focus on the gifts that all the seasons of life bring to us, the Chorale is led by Music Director Jeff Harris, a long-time Mesa resident, music educator and choral director.  The 60 members of the Chorale come from all parts of the Valley and walks of life joined by one common purpose - their love of music and singing together.
