The “charismatic indie-soul diva” (Time Out New York), Martha Redbone takes the Capitol Center for the Arts stage for a performance filled with the soaring sounds of blues and soul. As part of New York Voices, the artist commissioning program of Joe's Pub at The Public, singer-songwriter Dawn Landes (music and lyrics) and director Daniel Goldstein (book) bring forth a new musical called ROW - the heartbreaking but ultimately uplifting story of Tori Murden McClure, the first woman to row solo across the Atlantic Ocean. On June 21 and 22, Landes, with Xanthe Elbrick (Tori), Stephen Bogardus (Mac) and more, will perform a concert version of ROW at Joe's Pub (425 Lafayette, NYC).

This spring heats up at the Loft with a diverse lineup of singer songwriters and world music acts. From playing major festivals like South by Southwest (SxSW) and the Newport Folk Festival, to being featured on NPR's Tiny Desk Concert Series, these acts are some of the hottest currently touring.

As part of New York Voices, the artist commissioning program of Joe's Pub at The Public, iconoclast singer-songwriter Martha Redbone brings forth an epic, unexpected and personal American journey in Bone Hill, a new musical theater work featuring original music by Redbone and Aaron Whitby, and co-written and directed by Roberta Uno. Tonight, February 11, 13 and 14, 2015 at 7:00PM, Redbone will perform a concert of songs from the work-in-progress at Joe's Pub (425 Lafayette, NYC), with an all-star band in tow.

This February, Joe's Pub at The Public presents a slate of shows to romance and titillate in honor of Valentine's Day. From today, February 10, through February 14 , every night will feature at least one show celebrating love and lust, including alt-pop singer Rachael Sage, cabaret goddess Bridget Everett, a night of Michael Jackson and Prince love songs led by Toshi Reagon, fiery soul star XAVIER and friends, the tantalizing Brown Girls Burlesque and the V-day edition of Never Sleep Alone. The Association on American Indian Affairs honored Shaun Taylor-Corbett (Blackfeet, Frankie Valli in the Jersey Boys National Tour), Ernie Stevens, Jr. (Oneida, Chairman, National Indian Gaming Association) and Martha Redbone (Cherokee/Choctaw, Award Winning Recording Artist and Activist) last Thursday, November 20, 2014 at the Walter Reade Theater at Lincoln Center (144 West 65 Street). Started in 1922 and incorporated in New York, AAIA returns to the City each November for its Annual Meeting of the Members, Native Film Showcase and Honoring Reception. This year, we recognize three prominent Native American leaders at a cocktail reception tonight, November 20, 2014 at 6:00 PM.

Started in 1922 and incorporated in New York, AAIA returns to the City each November for its Annual Meeting of the Members, Native Film Showcase and Honoring Reception. This year, we recognize three prominent Native American leaders at a cocktail reception on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 6:00 PM. Immediately following the reception, there will be an evening of entertainment featuring three short films, the screening of the inspiring documentary film, Playground of the Native Son, which tells the story of the Hominy Indian football team who played and defeated the World Champion New York Giants in the 1920's as well as performances by Martha Redbone and Shaun Taylor-Corbett, accompanied by Marisa Quinn. Documentary filmmaker Celia Xavier will introduce the feature film. Doors to the theater will open at 7:00 pm (start time 7:30). Performances and screenings are Free and Open to the Public. Seating is first come, first served.

Broadway's Shaun Taylor- Corbett (currently starring as Frankie Valli in the Jersey Boys National Tour) will be recognized by the Association on American Indian Affairs (AAIA) for his outstanding contributions to the arts and his community.
