The West End premiere of Irving Berlin's much-loved musical White Christmas will be led by Aled Jones as Bob Wallace, Tom Chambers as Phil Davis, Wendi Peters as Martha, Graham Cole as General Waverley, Rachel Stanley as Betty Haynes and Louise Bowden as Judy Haynes, with Lori Haley Fox, Michelle Bishop, Phil Cole, Brendan Cull and Jonathan Halliwell. The Dance Enthusiast, a NYC-based dance journalism website leading an exuberant revolution in dance communication, now celebrating its 7th year and more than 100,000 readers, launches a new event series. Through the generous support of the Mertz Gilmore Foundation, The Dance Enthusiast has created the series Enthusiastic Events! A cross between a salon performance and a gathering at your best friend's home, renowned dance artists and prime movers from diverse fields will meet their audience in an intimate setting. Each event is themed and will include live performances from premier artists in the NYC dance world, feature special guests and presenters who work outside of dance but are highly influenced by the artform, and is paired with a guest chef who will create a unique menu related to the theme.

Jersey City resident Samuel Pott's Nimbus Dance Works will celebrate its Tenth Anniversary Season tonight, November 8 at 7PM with a benefit performance at the Barrow Mansion, located at 83 Wayne Street in Historic Downtown Jersey City. This performance will include some of its most beloved repertory works, including Memo, and Surface Tension. Also being performed is an excerpt from a provocative new work being premiered at the Brooklyn Academy of Music on May 8 & 9, 2015. Tickets are $65 and will include a pre and post-show reception, silent auction and a live auction. The Star-Ledger said “Nimbus Dance Works helps define the American Experience”. All monies raised will help Nimbus continue its mission of bringing people and dance together in an innovative way.

For DIRECTOR'S CHOICE, the second program of Pacific Northwest Ballet's 2014-2015season, Artistic Director Peter Boal selects two PNB premieres paired with stunning repertory works in this absorbing mixed-bill. Opening the program, David Dawson's breath-taking, hyper-extended A Million Kisses to my Skin references the intoxicating bliss dancers experience while performing. Rassemblement, Nacho Duato's poignant work set to slave songs by Haitian artist Toto Bissainthe, voices communal yearning and resistance in a climate of oppression. Annabelle Lopez Ochoa's (Cylindrical Shadows) critically-acclaimed signature piece, Before After, a PNB premiere, unmasks the turmoil just before a relationship ends. The performance closes with Debonair, a world premiere by New York City Ballet's rising star Justin Peck, praised for 'electrifying classical dance with [his] fresh vision' (Wall Street Journal). The program also includes a musical prelude to shine the spotlight on the nationally renowned PNB Orchestra, currently celebrating its 25th Anniversary season. Elisa Monte Dance (EMD) announced last night at a reception in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood that Elisa Monte will retire as the artistic director from the company that she has built, grown and established as a beacon of modern movement over its 34-years. Dancers, board members and important key players in the company's history, stood beside Elisa as she named Tiffany Rea-Fisher, long time dancer, Associate Artistic Director and Director of Operations as her successor, effective at the culmination of EMD's 35th season in spring of 2016. The announcement followed a private tour of the Fashion Institute of Technology's Dance & Fashion exhibition, where repertory costumes created by Calvin Klein's Francisco Costa for Monte's 2008 work Slope of Enlightenment are currently being showcased.

New York... Hauser & Wirth is pleased to present 'Thomas Houseago. MOUN ROOM', an immersive environment that represents a departure for the artist.

Houseago is most widely identified with monumental sculptures of the human body. His figures are admired for their brute physicality and a potent tactility redolent of their making. Drawing upon and deftly subverting classical sources, Houseago creates forms that hover between power and vulnerability, old and new worlds. But with 'Moun Room', the artist reverses his standard subject-object relationship and, for the first time, places the viewer in the role of primary figure and active participant. 'Moun Room' invites us to move through space and among complex screens of the artist's carefully layered and pierced materials, rather than to circle an opaque form. It calls upon us to explore its softly glowing channels and unravel the processes by which Houseago has assembled and reassembled physical space in an effort to chart fresh emotional territory.
