Transport Group Closes SEE ROCK CITY & OTHER DESTINATIONS, 8/14

Transport Group (TG), the winner of a special 2007 Drama Desk Award and 2007 and 2010 OBIE Awards, has announced that its production of the New York premiere of See Rock City & Other Destinations, music by Brad Alexander; book and lyrics by Adam Mathias; directed by Artistic Director Jack Cummings III, will extend one week through Saturday, August 14 at The Duke on 42nd Street, a New 42nd Street® project, 229 West 42nd Street.

Pride Films & Plays to Feature the Work of Terrence McNally This Fall

Pride Films & Plays, an international network of writers and professionals working in film and theater, announces that its next reading series will feature THE GREAT PLAYS OF TERRENCE McNALLY, a survey of his works written between 1975 and 2006. Beginning Sunday, August 29 and running through Sunday, October 24.

Nicholas Belton Joins Transport's SEE ROCK CITY & OTHER DESTINATIONS 8/11

Transport Group (TG), the winner of a special 2007 Drama Desk Award and 2007 and 2010 OBIE Awards, has announced that Nicholas Belton will join its acclaimed New York premiere of See Rock City & Other Destinations, music by Brad Alexander; book and lyrics by Adam Mathias; directed by Artistic Director Jack Cummings III, for its extension, beginning Wednesday, August 11 through Saturday, August 14 at The Duke on 42nd Street, a New 42nd Street® project, 229 West 42nd Street. Mr. Belton will take over the roles played by Bryce Ryness.

Pride Films and Plays GREAT GAY SCREENPLAY CONTEST Closes

Pride Films and Plays, a new not-for-profit, is proud to announce its inaugural activities as an organization. The first two events scheduled are Five Decades of Great Gay Theater, May 9 - June 13, a series of staged reading of great gay plays, Theatre Building Chicago, 1225 West Belmont*, and the Great Gay Screenplay Contest, held in conjunction with Chicago Filmmakers. The contest seeks new screenplays dealing with gay history, characters or themes and relevant to the world. The semi-finalists will be read this fall during Reeling: The Chicago Lesbian and Gay International Film Festival.

ACCIDENTALLY, LIKE A MARTYR takes place in a gay bar on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, where a group of men from different backgrounds and generations talk, joke and drink their way through a slow and lonely winter evening. Old secrets are revealed and old wounds re-opened in a serio-comic play inspired and influenced by Mart Crowley's 'The Boys in the Band' and Tennessee Williams's 'Small Craft Warnings.'
