CITIZEN TWAIN, Starring Val Kilmer, Announces Tour

Val Kilmer, famous for his portrayals of iconic characters such as Jim Morrison (The Doors), Doc Holliday (Tombstone) and Batman (Batman Forever), inhabits the spirit of yet another legendary figure: Mark Twain. Kilmer continues to develop Citizen Twain, a solo show about the man considered to be the world's greatest storyteller, taking it on the road to venues including the Valley Performing Arts Center in Northridge, CA on April 6; the Wyly Theatre in Dallas, TX, April 18-21; the Del E. Webb Center for the Performing Arts in Wickenburg, AZ, May 3-4; and the Kirk Douglas Theatre in Culver City, June 28-July 28. Four renowned achievers will be honored for their lifetime accomplishments with the 34th Annual Common Wealth Awards of Distinguished Service. The awards recognize individuals who have enriched modern society in a range of human endeavors. The 2013 Common Wealth Award winners are: Alan Alda, celebrated actor, director and screenwriter, for Dramatic Arts; David McCullough, preeminent author and historian, for Literature; Jane Pauley, leading broadcast journalist, Today Show contributor and author, for Mass Communications; Martin Sheen, film legend, social activist and humanitarian, for Public Service.

NYC & LA Theater HIKOBAE Collaboration to Honor Sacrifice of 3/11 & 9/11 First Responders, March-April 2013

A new production of Hikobae, a play about the medical staff who risked their lives following the devastating earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disasters that struck Japan on March 11, 2011 will premiere in Los Angeles on March 30th & 31st and New York on April 5th & 6th. Hikobae honors the first responders and those who lost their lives in the disaster. The significance of remembering the victims and sacrifices of the first responders is particularly relevant two years following the events of 3/11.

A romantic drama of epic proportions, The Tempest features spirits, monsters, witches, drunken fools and lithe lovers who will contort and cavort with passion and bravado in this larger-than-life production.

In Not by Bread Alone, Nalaga'at Theater, the world's only professional deaf-blind acting company, takes the audience on a tour of their inner world. As bread is kneaded, formed, and baked on stage, eleven extraordinary storytellers convey their memories and dreams, mixing reality and fantasy, grandeur and ridicule. Performed multiple nights each week since 2007 at the one-of-a-kind Nalaga'at Center in Tel Aviv's Jaffa Port, and following an acclaimed, sold-out run in London's 2010 LIFT Festival, the work will make its U.S. premiere at the NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts.
