Atlantis Productions recently opened the first production of the legendary musical 'Carrie' outside the United States to critical acclaim at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza, Makati.

Atlantis Productions' newly opened production of 'Carrie,' based on the revamped version that premiered in New York City last Spring, has postponed its performance this Sunday, September 22.

American screenwriter Lawrence D. Cohen, best known for his screenplay for Stephen King's classic horror story 'Carrie,' will attend the opening night of Atlantis Productions' staging of the revamped 'Carrie'--the musical--at Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium in Manila, Philippines on Friday, September 20.

Mikkie Bradshaw ('The Sound of Music'), Markki Stroem ('Next to Normal,' 'Camp Rock'), and Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo ('Next to Normal,' 'The King and I') star in Atlantis Productions' local staging of the cult musical 'Carrie,' which runs at Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium from Friday, September 20 to Sunday, October 6.

Repertory Philippines' latest offering, Disney's "Camp Rock," is a stage adaptation of the popular Disney TV movie, which starred The Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato. As expected, "Camp Rock" is a lightweight romantic comedy targeted at teens and those that want to relive the happiness of their innocent youth.

Theater actor, writer, and director Gerard Alessandrini's brainchild, the 30-year-old Off-Broadway hit parody series FORBIDDEN BROADWAY, finally premiered at Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza in Makati City last weekend. Joel Trinidad, Upstart Productions' president and the show's director, had picked FORBIDDEN BROADWAY'S GREATEST HITS, which has two volumes to date, and features some of the more popular spoofs of Broadway musicals and theater legends culled from more than a dozen FORBIDDEN BROADWAY editions.

Joel Trinidad, Upstart Productions' president, announced at a press conference on Tuesday that theater bigwigs Lea Salonga, Aiza Seguerra, Nyoy Volante, Jett Pangan, Iya Villania, Nikki Valdez, Markki Stroem, and Gabe Mercado will guest star in the theater company's summer production of Off-Broadway parody "Forbidden Broadway's Greatest Hits," written and originally directed by Gerard Alessandrini, and top-billed by Liesl Batucan, Caisa Borromeo, OJ Mariano, and Lorenz Martinez. The musical will run at Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza on Sen. Gil J. Puyat Avenue from May 11 to 27.
