EarthCam (www.earthcam.com), the Internet's premier global webcam network, is celebrating the life of Mark Twain, donating a live webcam and services to the Mark Twain Boyhood Home & Museum in Hannibal, MO.

From Thursday, October 7 through Sunday, October 10, the City of Newark and New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) will host the largest poetry event in North America, the 2010 Geraldine R. Dodge Poetry Festival.

The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center announced today that seven plays will be developed at the 2010 National Playwrights Conference under the leadership of artistic director Wendy C. Goldberg. The selected playwrights will spend the month of July at the O'Neill's Waterford, Connecticut campus developing and presenting staged readings of their work during the NPC's 46th season. Will Stutts will perform his production 'Mark Twain's America' at Merrimack Hall on April 13. Will Stutts has worked longer and more in the genre of the one-person play than almost any other actor in the world. Over three decades, Stutts has appeared in 39 of the United States and three Canadian provinces, in well over 1,000 single engagements before audiences estimated to total over one million. A native of Alabama, Stutts' second cousin was the legendary actress, Tallulah Bankhead. He attended Yale University's School of Drama. This program has been made possible by grants from the Alabama State Council on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.

Following a highly successful run at the Folger Theatre in Washington D.C., Two River Theater Co. will close the curtain on the world premiere of Orestes A Tragic Romp, Anne Washburn's razor sharp modern adaptation of the Greek tragedy by Euripides, directed by Two River Artistic Director Aaron Posner on April 11th.

The musical version of Mark Twain's classic tale sweeps audiences down the mighty Mississippi as the irrepressible Huck Finn helps his friend Jim, a slave, escape to freedom at the mouth of the Ohio River. Their adventures along the way are propelled by an award-winning score from Roger Miller, which provides a theatrical celebration of pure Americana.

Mayor Michael Nutter announced today that Bill Cosby, Ed.D.-comedian and educator-will be the next recipient of the Marian Anderson Award.
