Upcoming Theatre Communication Group Member Shows - 6/06 for Louisville

Two River Theater Co. is proud to present Picasso at the Lapin Agile, a hilarious and madcap comedy by Steve Martin, and directed by Hal Brooks.

The stage is set for a summer of adventures called the 'Classic Adventure Series' under an open-air tent theater in Waveny Park beginning June 12, from the Summer Theatre of New Canaan (STONC), a professional nonprofit theatre company.

Connecticut Repertory Theatre (CRT), the professional producing arm of the Department of Dramatic Arts at the University of Connecticut in Storrs, continues its Nutmeg Summer Series with the David Ives' comedy, All in the Timing, playing June 10 through 20, 2010 in the Nafe Katter Theatre.

Today, Tuesday, May 25, The Kennedy Center announced that Tina Fey is the 2010 recipient of the Mark Twain Prize of American Humor. Established in 1998, the annual award is to an individual who has had an impact on American society in ways similar to 19th century novelist and essayist, Mark Twain. The ceremony, to be held Tuesday November 9, will feature a lineup of the biggest names in comedy, and will be taped for television broadcast.

Children's Playhouse of Maryland's final two shows of Big River are Saturday, May 22 and Sunday, May 23 at 1pm. The student cast features: Bradley Bowers as Huck, Jeremy Griffith as Jim, Tim Flaharty as Tom Sawyer, Kelsey Lake as Mary Jane, Dan Hasty as the King, and Brandon Montell as the Duke. Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) announces the winning selections of the 2010 TRU Voices New Plays Reading Series. In a series that is unique because it develops new producers as well as new plays, three works were chosen from submissions by emerging or established producers, as well as from writers who hoped to be matched with a producer.
