Performing arts organizations traditionally close up shop in these parts during the summer. Not so this year. Andrew Kurtz conducted a successful experiment as well as his Gulf Coast Symphony on July 14, 2018, at Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall.

As suspicion goes, Friday 13th is bad luck but viral sensation, country singer/songwriter and charismatic entertainer Karen Waldrup couldn't disagree more.  Her first full length albumJustified is available everywhere now and it's currently sitting at #10 on the iTunes Country album chart and at #72 on the All Genre chart. Waldrup is the only independent artist in the Top 10.

Marcie Gorman, Executive Producer & Artistic Director for MNM Theatre Company, today confirmed the casts for its next two major productions at the Kravis Center's Rinker Playhouse: the witty I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change and the sentimental favorite My Way: A Musical Tribute to Frank Sinatra. Both shows will be directed by Dom Ruggiero with Caryl Fantel serving as music director.

Center Stage Jackson is finishing its 2017-18 Season with The Drowsy Chaperone, Music & Lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison, Book by Bob Martin and Don McKellar. This Main Stage musical will run June 8, 9, 16, and 17 at 7:30pm, with Sunday matinees June 10 and 18 at 3:00pm. All performances are on the stage of the Baughman Theatre at Jackson College's Potter Center, 2111 Emmons Rd. Jackson, MI 49201.

Thousands of people attended the Garden State Film Festival's much-anticipated homecoming in Asbury Park March 22-25, 2018.
