Caro Newling Announced As New Society of London Theatre President

Society of London Theatre (SOLT) today has announced that Caro Newling has been appointed as its new President. Caro has been a producer in the West End, on Broadway and internationally since the early 1990s.

John Gordon Sinclair and James Lance will play iconic duo Jeeves and Wooster in the Olivier Award-winning hit Perfect Nonsense in the West End and on tour, replacing the current cast, Robert Webb and Mark Heap, from 30 June 2014. Co-writer Robert Goodale will take over from Mark Hadfield as Seppings.

Stage One Awards Funds to Producer Stephen McGill for THE PAJAMA GAME

Stage One, the charity that supports new UK commercial theatre producers and productions, today announces the latest recipient of its Start-Up Investment Fund. Stephen McGill has been awarded £50,000 by the charity to co-produce the West End transfer of the critically acclaimed Chichester Festival Theatre production of The Pajama Game. He will co-produce alongside Joseph Smith, Old Vic Productions, John Brant and Gavin Kalin. The production, directed by Richard Eyre, begins previews at the Shaftesbury Theatre on 2 May 2014 and stars Joanna Riding, Michael Xavier, Peter Polycarpou, Gary Wilmot and Colin Stinton.

The Society of London Theatre's 2013 Box Office figures, published today (29 January 2014), show record ticket revenue and attendances. Overall attendances increased 4% to 14,587,276 and gross sales of £585,506,455 were up 11% compared to 2012, generating VAT receipts for the Treasury of £97,584,409.

LA SOIREE has announced that a limited number of $30.00 rush tickets will be available for purchase in-person at the Union Square Theatre box office (100 East 17 St). Tickets will be available beginning two hours prior to curtain, tickets for Friday & Saturday at 10PM will be available beginning at 5PM the day of. There is a limit of two tickets per person.
