In anticipation of the February 2012 Grand Opening of the new Ford's Theatre Center for Education and Leadership, the Ford's Theatre Society announces the Lincoln Legacy Project; a five-year effort to create a dialogue in our nation's capital around the issues of tolerance, equality and acceptance.

The Ford's Theatre Society announced that visitors may now enhance their experience at the historic site by renting an Acoustiguide Audio Tour featuring stories, character voices, sound effects and historic photos. Acoustiguides are available in adult and youth (age 8-12) versions and may be reserved through Ticketmaster when purchasing advance timed-entry tickets. Additionally, daytime performances of the one-act play 'One Destiny' by Richard Hellesen will resume April 4-May 21. Ford's Theatre presents evening performances of 'One Destiny' June 14-July 2, 2011. Part of the History on Stage series, the 30-minute 'One Destiny' presentation captures the first-hand accounts of those present at Ford's Theatre the day of Lincoln's assassination.

Ford’s Theatre 'History on Foot Walking Tours' Return in March

From March through August 2011, Ford's Theatre Society presents its History on Foot walking tours 'Investigation: Detective McDevitt' and 'A Free Black Woman: Elizabeth Keckly.' Led by costumed actors playing historical characters from Civil War Washington, the tours guide patrons from historic Ford's Theatre (511 10th Street NW) to different sites throughout downtown, Washington, D.C.

Due to Forecasted Snow, Ford's Offers Tix Exchanges for Weekend Shows of THE RIVALRY

In anticipation of the forecasted snow, the Ford's Theatre Society offers patrons the option to exchange previously purchased tickets to this weekend's performances of The Rivalry (February 5, at 7:30 p.m.; February 6, at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; and February 7, at 2:30 p.m.) for performances later in the run. Additionally, the theatre has added a performance of The Rivalry at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 14 to accommodate patrons. Those interested in exchanging should contact their point of purchase directly. All exchanges must be finalized prior to February 11.
