Downtown Brooklyn Partnership Announces Fall Events Lineup

Downtown Brooklyn Partnership (DBP) today announced the fall season of its annual events series, Downtown Brooklyn Presents, which celebrates the people and the plazas of one of the nation's fastest growing downtowns. The DTBK Presents program provides an opportunity for local organizations and artists to showcase their talents while bringing the neighborhood together to celebrate outdoors.  

Smuin Announces Dancers Joining Company For 21/22 Season

As it returns to live performances, Smuin Contemporary Ballet announces the addition of four new dancers: Stéphano Candreva, Marc LaPierre, Yuri Rogers, and Claire Buehler, who is an apprentice this season.

Joffrey Welcomes Four New Dancers From South Korea, Spain and the U.S.

The Joffrey Ballet's Ashley Wheater MBE, The Mary B. Galvin Artistic Director and Greg Cameron, President and CEO are pleased to announce the addition of four dancers to the Joffrey roster for the 2021-22 season: Brian Bennett (Lanham, Maryland), Blake Kessler (Jacksonville, Florida), Yuchan Kim (Seoul, South Korea) and Miranda Silveira (Barcelona, Spain). With these new company members, The Joffrey Ballet has expanded to 43 dancers representing 13 countries.

LOVE & OTHER STORIES: AN ORIGINAL DANCE NARRATIVE

Love & Other Stories is an original dance narrative premiering on Sunday, September 26th at Snug Harbor Cultural Center (Staten Island). Directed, choreographed, and conceived by Ariana Andretta, the show follows four young women and their separate journeys in their quest to define love.

BMDC Bequeaths Dance For PD Program to the Kennedy Center and George Mason U. School of Dance

Bowen McCauley Dance Company, the award-winning contemporary dance company who closed out its 25th and final season tonight at The Kennedy Center, announces partnerships with The Kennedy Center and George Mason University's School of Dance to continue free Dance for Parkinson's Disease (Dance for PD) classes. Earlier this year, BMDC announced a similar partnership with the Maryland Youth Ballet, and this triad of partnerships will ensure that Dance for PD classes are accessible throughout the DC Metro area.

World Premiere of Magloire's MUSIK to Premiere at the Mark Morris Dance Center

Miro Magloire has announced the world premiere of his Musik, a major new work that integrates ballet, song, and chamber music, performed by four dancers and four singers who share the stage for the full 60-minute performance, set to rarely heard orchestral and vocal selections by Beethoven and Brahms.
