American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) Artistic Director Carey Perloff announced today the initial casting for A.C.T.'s upcoming production of Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler's rapturous and seductive musical, A Little Night Music. Filled with Sondheim's signature wit and some of his most gorgeous melodies -- including the beloved and haunting treasure "Send in the Clowns" -- A Little Night Music will feature Tony Award winner Karen Ziemba (Bullets Over Broadway, Contact) as Desiree Armfeldt; Tony Award nominee Emily Skinner (Billy Elliot: The Musical, Side Show) as Charlotte; and Patrick Cassidy (42nd Street, Sondheim's Assassins) as Federick Egerman. Additional casting will be announced at a later date.

The Colony Theatre will present the fourth production of its historic 40th Anniversary season, the West Coast Premiere of THE ROAD TO APPOMATTOX by Catherine Bush, directed by Brian Shnipper. THE ROAD TO APPOMATTOX will preview on Wednesday, February 11; Thursday, February 12; and Friday, February 13 at 8:00pm. It will open on Saturday, February 14 at 8:00pm and continue through Sunday, March 15.

Mainstreet Musicals' 2015 guest artistic director, Tony Award-winning director Michael Mayer, recently announced the winners of the 2015 Mainstreet Awards: A GOOD MAN (Ray Leslee and Philip S. Goodman),THE GIG (Douglas J. Cohen), and HOW GREEN WAS MY VALLEY (Roger Ames and Elizabeth Bassine).

Agatha Christie's classic whodunit, 'The Mousetrap,' will be presented as a Script in Hand playreading at Westport Country Playhouse, on Monday, December 15, at 7 p.m. Director is Anne Keefe, Playhouse associate artist and curator of the playreading series. Tickets are $15 each.

WaterTower Theatre Producing Artistic Director Terry Martin today announced that David Denson will direct the Main Stage production of Arthur Miller's All My Sons (April 17 - May 10, 2015). Terry Martin will take to the stage as the tragic hero, Joe Keller. General auditions for All My Sons will be held on December 14th.

Two River Theater presents Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe's Camelot, directed by David Lee with music direction and orchestrations by Steve Orich (Jersey Boys) and choreography by Mark Esposito (South Pacific with Reba McEntire). The production will run now through December 14, 2014, with the opening night tonight, November 21 at 8pm.

The Old Globe invites your participation and coverage as it begins presenting shows through an exciting new producing platform, Globe for All. This free-of-charge tour of a professional production of Shakespeare will allow the theatre to serve more communities throughout San Diego by collaborating with a diverse range of local organizations. Old Globe Artistic Director Barry Edelstein directs the first production, Shakespeare's fascinating romance All's Well That Ends Well. He has cast local professional actors, including recent graduates of the Old Globe/University of San Diego Graduate Theatre Program. The first Globe for All free Shakespeare tour will begin October 28 and will culminate in three low-cost performances on November 7 to 9 in the Globe's Hattox Hall, part of the Karen and Donald Cohn Education Center in the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center.

Steppenwolf Theatre Company, the nation's longest-standing, most distinguished ensemble theater, announced today new leadership and unveiled plans for a future campus expansion. Steppenwolf ensemble member and Tony Award-winning director Anna D. Shapiro will succeed Martha Lavey as artistic director at the conclusion of the current season in fall 2015.

Joseph Haj, Producing Artistic Director of PlayMakers Repertory Company in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, is the 2014 recipient of The Zelda Fichandler Award, an award to recognize an outstanding director or choreographer who is transforming the regional arts landscape through imaginative, brave work in theatre. Playwright A. R. ("Pete") Gurney, one of the most-produced playwrights in the history of Westport Country Playhouse, was celebrated for his body of work at the theater's one-night-only fundraising gala, "A Perfect Party: A Gala Evening Honoring A. Signature Theatre and Westport Country Playhouse have announced that the two organizations will co-produce the world premiere of A.R. Gurney's LOVE AND MONEY during the 2015-16 Season.

Playwright A. R. ('Pete') Gurney, who has had 14 of his plays staged at Westport Country Playhouse, will be celebrated at the Playhouse's annual fundraiser, 'A Perfect Party: A Gala Evening Honoring A. R. Gurney,' tonight, September 22. Westport's Arthur Levitt, a valued trustee and longtime supporter of the Playhouse, will also be honored with the Playhouse Leadership Award.

Karen Carpenter, a producer, director and teacher, a theater-maker for more than 30 years, has been appointed the interim Artistic Director of the William Inge Center for the Arts and the 34th Annual William Inge Theatre Festival. The Inge Festival is the Official Theater Festival of the State of Kansas, hosted on the campus of Independence Community College, which houses the William Inge archives.
