Beginning tonight Monday, July 27, there will be a new ?man behind the mask' in the Broadway production of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, which is the longest-running show in Broadway history. John Cudia, the recent star of the National Tour, will take over the role on Broadway after a nearly decade-long association with the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical, directed by Harold Prince.

Maine State Music Theatre's third show of the 2009 season is the delightfully deceptive 'Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.' This Tony Award winning musical is based on the film of the same name and includes music and lyrics by David Yazbek, composer and lyricist of 'The Full Monty', and a book by Jeffrey Lane. In addition to the familiar story line, the musical boasts witty lyrics with a side of harmless adult humor.

Casting has been announced for a 'first look' at select scenes and songs from the new musical adaptation of Katherine Anne Porter's classic novel, Ship of Fools, which will be presented May 12th to industry at a private residence in Manhattan. Pam Tate pens the book and score, and Tate and Erv Raible share duty on the lyrics. Hubert 'Tex' Arnold is the musical director and arranger. David Glenn Armstrong will direct the presentation.

White Plains Performing Arts Center Postpones 'HELLO, DOLLY!'

Jack W. Batman, Executive Producer of the White Plains Performing Arts Center, has announced the postponement of Hello, Dolly! scheduled to play April 30 - May 17, 2009, the theatre's final production of its 2008-2009 season. The company, an Actors' Equity Association LORT theatre, has produced seven major musicals since November 2007, most recently a highly praised production of Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler's A Little Night Music starring Penny Fuller and Mark Jacoby.
