When he is accused of killing his neighbor's dog, he makes it his mission to find the true culprit, which leads him to a life altering discovery. The crushing moments of the play mixed with solitary moments of joy had the audience up on its feet before the curtain call. The impeccable writing, Simon Stephens' Tony Award-winning adaptation based on Mark Haddon's best-selling novel, was brought to life by masterful directing and acting.

Having eagerly awaited seeing the Omaha Community Playhouse production of the Tony Award winning play, THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME, I was disappointed to find that I was not moved. The story, the setting, the action all combined to create a chilly feeling that I couldn't shake.
Dominic Torres who plays Christopher in the show says: 'I think people should come and see the show. It's truly, truly very inspiring. The moral of the story is that the diagnosis does not describe you. Even if you are on the autism spectrum, or whatever other spectrums there are, you are still a person. You can do what you want to do if you put your mind to it.'

For most people, the ability to connect with others, be touched, and explore the everyday world doesn't take much effort. It's different though for Christopher Boone-a fifteen-year-old living with autism-because even the simple act of holding a conversation with someone can overload his senses and emotions. What happens when the neighbor's dog is found speared with a garden fork and Christopher becomes a suspect? Find out when The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time comes to Trustus Theatre. This production will feature the Trustus debut of Beck Chandler, the first actor with autism to play the role in the Southeast. It also features British actor Scott Pattison as Christopher's father, and his performance is supported in part by a South Carolina Arts Commission Performance Initiative Grant. Simon Stephens' script adaptation, which won the 2015 Tony for Best Play and was based on the award-winning novel by Mark Haddon, will come to life at Trustus Theatre on Friday, January 18 and will run through Saturday, February 9, 2019. Audiences will be captivated by this contemporary Sherlock Holmes-style mystery as they watch Christopher deduce his way through a journey full of unfamiliar paths, unexpected obstacles, and surprising revelations. This fast-paced story is aided by imaginative lights and projections designed by Bryan Duncan, Concordia College's Director of Campus Lights, known for light designing the Concordia Christmas Concerts and theatre productions.
15-year-old Christopher has an extraordinary brain: He is exceptional at mathematics but ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. He has never ventured alone beyond the end of his road, he detests being touched, and he distrusts strangers. Now it is 7 minutes after midnight, and Christopher stands beside his neighbor's dead dog, Wellington, who has been speared with a garden fork. Finding himself under suspicion, Christopher is determined to solve the mystery of who murdered Wellington, and he precisely records each fact of the crime. But his detective work, forbidden by his father, takes him on a thrilling journey that upturns his world. Outcry Youth Theatre is honored to introduce you to Christopher, his teachers, his family, his neighbors and a number of other characters whose lives challenge us to see the world from a different point of view.
