Guthrie Director Joe Dowling today announced 12 mainstage productions of the theater's 2013-2014 season. The theater's 51st season includes first-time Guthrie productions of playwrights Beth Henley and Nina Raine, classics on the Wurtele Thrust Stage directed by Dowling and Marion McClinton, WorldStage Series presentations of returning companies Kneehigh Theatre and Out of Joint, as well as a summertime slate of a beloved musical and a Christopher Durang comedy that is currently a Broadway hit.

Based on the popular book series by Dan Gutman, Jackie and Me by Steven Dietz magically transports audiences back to Jackie Robinson's rookie year at the dawn of the Civil Rights movement. The Guthrie Theater today announced complete casting for the remount of the Pillsbury House Theatre production Buzzer by Tracey Scott Wilson. Buzzer, co-commissioned by the Guthrie Theater and Pillsbury House Theatre, will be helmed by Tony-nominated director Marion McClinton and play the Dowling Studio from February 8-March 3, 2013. Buzzer was previously performed at Pillsbury House Theatre last fall.

The Guthrie Theater today announced casting for the Pillsbury House Theatre and The Mount Curve Company co-production of The Brothers Size- described as 'an exuberantly theatrical drama from one of the country's most exciting new voices that weaves together brothers, the bayou, and African mythology to create a stylized story of love and heartache.' Written by Tarell Alvin McCraney and directed by Marion McClinton, The Brothers Size will be performed in the Guthrie's Dowling Studio from September 7-29, 2012.

Denise Burse (Peace Love and Understanding, Brother to Brother, "House of Payne"), Harriett D. Foy (Mamma Mia!, The American Plan, Once On This Island), Lynda Gravatt (Cat On A Hot Tin Roof, Doubt), Nikiya Mathis (Milk Like Sugar), Dennis Parlato (Salome, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Chess), Saycon Sengbloh (Fela!, Hair), and Tracie Thoms (Rent, Stick Fly) join Vassar & New York Stage and Film's 28th Powerhouse Theater season in the workshop of award-winning playwright Marcus Gardley's The House That Will Not Stand, directed by Marion McClinton (July 20-22). Park Square Theatre presents its annual production of THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK, based on one of the 20th Century's most inspiring and enduring narratives. The story comes to life in three public performances March 1 & 3 at 7:30 p.m., and March 31 at 1 p.m. at Park Square Theatre, 20 W. Seventh Place, Saint Paul.
