National New Play Network, the country's alliance of nonprofit theaters that champions the development, production, and continued life of new plays, announces its 80th Rolling World Premiere (RWP): Red Bike by Caridad Svich. The Roll includes Member Theaters PYGmalion Productions (April 20-May 5 in Salt Lake City), Simpatico Theatre (June 6-24 in Philadelphia), Know Theatre of Cincinnati (January 11-February 2, 2019), and The Wilbury Theatre Group (April 11-21, 2019 in Providence). Red Bike was presented at NNPN's 2017 National Showcase of New Plays, hosted by Orlando Shakespeare Theatre.

The Los Angeles LGBT Center presents CineArte, the 5th annual arts festival of the queer Latinx community, Friday, April 20, through Sunday, April 22, at The Village at Ed Gould Plaza, located at 1125 N. Bloomingdale School of Music (BSM) continues its focus on faculty performances with pianist Judith Olson and guest artist Rolf Schulte on violin in a concert entitled, The Lyrical Brahms on today, April 27th at 7:00 pm. Jones Street Productions presents the New York premiere of Moolah, a new comedy by Arje Shaw (The Gathering, Magic Hands Freddie). Until these venues are opened the resident companies of the Opera carry on touring: apart from guest appearances in county towns and Hungarian settlements beyond the borders of Hungary, the Opera is to visit New York, Berlin, the capitals of the Visegrad Group, and several Italian places that played an important role in the life of Puccini.

Unknown painter Nora Baker in 2016 visits the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where things quickly get weird. From New York she travels to an artist's studio in southern France in 1900. Nora desperately wants to get back to 2016 but Paul Cezanne, another obscure artist with his own problems, is not being helpful. Also ensnared in Nora's crisis are an art historian from Utah and Cezanne's gardener.

For the first time in three years "nuevo flamenco" guitar virtuoso Jesse Cook will return to the State Theatre in Easton for a performance on Saturday, April 21st. This is part of his concert tour in conjunction with his tenth album - Beyond Borders - which was released in August.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts announced the 2018 winners of the Kennedy Center/Stephen Sondheim Inspirational Teacher Awards-a series of annual grants which recognize American teachers by spotlighting their extraordinary impact on the lives of students. Four teachers were selected in 2018 from a pool of nominations received through the Kennedy Center's website. Award recipients each receive $10,000 and are showcased, along with the former students they inspired, on a website dedicated to inspirational teachers. The awards, created by the Center in honor of Stephen Sondheim's 80th birthday in 2010, were initiated and funded through the generous support of Myrna and Freddie Gershon. To date, 75 awards totaling $750,000 have been presented.

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) announced that daytime talk show newcomer 'Pickler & Ben' has been nominated for three Daytime Emmy Awards.
