Elmhurst Ballet School join forces with London's premier youth orchestra, The London Schools Symphony Orchestra (LSSO) to celebrate composer Eleanor Alberga's 70th birthday in a performance of her musical adaptation of Roald Dahl's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, first presented in London 25 years ago by the London Philharmonic and Franz Welser-Möst.

MasterVoices Announces 2019-20 Season

Ted Sperling, Artistic Director of MasterVoices, announced details of the acclaimed ensemble's 78th season, celebrating the joy of choral singing and the power of the human voice to unite, inspire and connect since 1941. Highlights include three major musical presentations at top venues, including a New York premiere, and the World Premiere of a new work, commissioned by the Company. Throughout the season there will be collaborations with leading singers, artists, ensembles and organizations, some who are familiar with and others who are new to the Company.

New York Youth Symphony Announces Its 57th Season Of Concerts And Venues

New York Youth Symphony (NYYS), is proud to continue its mission of educating and inspiring young musicians through its Orchestra, Jazz, Chamber Music, Composition, Musical Theater Composition, Apprenticeship Conducting, and First Music commissioning programs. This season includes seven world premieres of new works commissioned through the First Music program, composed for the Orchestra, Jazz, and Chamber Music ensembles. The season also features renowned and up-and-coming soloists including prodigy pianist Harmony Zhu, 2019 Sphinx Competition winner cellist Sterling Elliott, and leading young pianist Michelle Cann in the Carnegie Hall premiere of Florence Price's recently re-discovered Piano Concerto in One Movement with NYYS Orchestra, as well as in-demand drummer Matt Wilson, celebrated saxophonist Steve Wilson, and trombone virtuoso Wycliffe Gordon with NYYS Jazz. The LA Phil Announces 2019/20 Inductees For Dudamel Fellowship Program

The Los Angeles Philharmonic Association has announced the four conductors who will participate in the 2019/20 Dudamel Fellowship Program: Hilo Carriel, Marta Gardolinska, Enluis Montes Olivar, and Anna Rakitina. Music & Artistic Director Gustavo Dudamel, together with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, created the Dudamel Fellowship Program in 2009 to provide a unique opportunity for promising young conductors from around the world to develop their craft and enrich their musical experience through personal mentorship and participation in the LA Phil's orchestral, learning, and community programs.

New Amsterdam Singers Performs TANGO MASS: May 16, 19

For its final concerts of the 2018-2019 season, New Amsterdam Singers, led by Music Director Clara Longstreth, will present music with roots in Argentina and Spain, featuring Misa a Buenos Aires/Misatango for chorus, strings, bandoneon, and piano by Argentine-born Martín Palmeri; two works by Astor Piazzolla from his cycle, Four Seasons of Buenos Aires; and Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco's Romancero Gitano for chorus and guitar, on poetry by Federico Garcia Lorca. The concerts will take place Thursday, May 16, at 8:00 p.m., and Sunday, May 19, 2019, at 3:00 p.m., at The Church of the Holy Trinity, 316 East 88th Street (between First and Second Avenues).

SPA Presents 2017 Cliburn Gold Medalist Yekwon Sunwoo

Society for the Performing Arts (SPA) will present the 2017 Cliburn Gold Medalist, Yekwon Sunwoo, on Thursday, April 25 at 7:30 p.m. in Zilkha Hall at the Hobby Center. Sunwoo will mesmerize the audience with a delightful evening of pieces from Schumann, Liszt and Schubert.

Nashville Symphony, Giancarlo Guerrero, Jason Vieaux Present World Premiere Recordings of Works by Jonathan Leshnoff

On May 2, 2019, Holocaust Remembrance Day, Naxos will release world premiere recordings of music by composer Jonathan Leshnoff performed by theNashville Symphony with conductor Giancarlo Guerrero and guitarist Jason Vieaux. The centerpiece of this singular new collection is Leshnoff's Symphony No. 4 “Heichalos,” which was written for theViolins of Hope, a collection of restored instruments played by Jewish musicians during the Holocaust.

APM's Performance Today Names First-Ever Classical Woman Of The Year Recipient

Performance Today has announced the winner for its newest honor in classical music. Grammy Award winner JoAnn Falletta, Music Director of Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, Music Director of the Virginia Symphony Orchestra, and Principal Guest Conductor of the Brevard Music Center, has been named the first-ever Classical Woman of the Year by Performance Today, which is produced by American Public Media and heard on radio stations across the nation.

New Amsterdam Singers Will Perform Zigeunerlieder (Gypsy Songs)

In the second concert of its 51st season, New Amsterdam Singers (NAS) will perform Brahms's popular Zigeunerlieder (Gypsy Songs), along with choral works by Haydn, Mendelssohn, Wolf, and recent pieces by contemporary American composers Carol Barnett and Robert S. Cohen. The concert will take place Today, March 8, 2019, at 8:00 p.m., at Broadway Presbyterian Church, Broadway at 114th Street.
