Legendary singer-actress Lainie Kazan and versatile performer Maurice Hines will be honored, along with 16 others, at the 28th Annual Bistro Awards gala, which recognizes outstanding achievement in New York cabaret, jazz, and comedy. The celebration will take place on Monday, March 4 at Gotham Comedy Club, 208 West 23rd Street (between 7th & 8th avenues).

In a show titled "Singing Again...For the First Time" Marci Kraft, lawyer at the New York Times (and graduate student of Marilyn Maye's master class) performed music of the 20's & 30's last night at DON'T TELL MAMA. Marilyn Maye in addition to her touring schedule conducts Master Classes of Performance across the country and is also an acclaimed vocal coach.

'Marilyn By Request,' in which Maye and her Billy Stritch-led band will create a new show based on audience requests, marks her return to her downtown stomping ground. On the ninth of January, David Basse returns to New York's Metropolitan Room to join his pal Marilyn Maye for a double bill. Maye performs at 7pm with Basse doing the 9:30pm set. Basse's band will include veteran bassist Curtis Lundy, pianist Richard Johnson, and drummer Jason Brown.

After almost two months of voting and the casting of more than 10,000 votes, we know the winners of the 20 categories in the first-ever BroadwayWorld.com New York Cabaret Awards. The biggest of the winners are Ann Hampton Callaway, Jim Caruso and Colleen McHugh, each taking two awards. Feinstein's at Loews Regency will continue its Fall 2012 season with two-time Emmy and five-time Grammy award-nominated entertainer Michael Feinstein. Celebrating the release of his new book The Gershwins and Me and a CD of twelve Gershwin songs, Michael will perform "A Gershwin Holiday."
