Southern Rep Theatre announces casting details and special event schedule for MISS BENNET: CHRISTMAS AT PEMBERLEY, the company's holiday production for the 2017-18 season. Running November 29 December 23, 2017 at Loyola University, Marquette Theatre, MISS BENNET reunites the characters of Pride and Prejudice, putting bookish middle sister Mary Bennet front-and-center.

Her optimism, her spirit, and her joy for life, even in the harshest of situations, has inspired so many since they were captured on the page. And, though young Anne did not live to see her own potential become reality, she left behind a first-person account that tells her story and the intricacies of the daily existence of eight people hidden away in Amsterdam during the height of World War II. Bringing those stories to life on the stage is what Playhouse on Park in West Hartford has done in their latest production of Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett's THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK which has been adapted by Wendy Kesselman to include newly discovered writings and survivor accounts of life during Nazi rule.

Halloween is just around the corner and the Playhouse is celebrating the season with the opening of a sophisticated, chillingly sinister thriller that will hold audiences spellbound with suspense!

The University of Michigan Institute for the Humanities presents WORLD LEADERS, a pop-up exhibition by Los Angeles-based photographer and U-M alumna Chanel Von Habsburg-Lothringen. The site-specific installation explores disparate geographical and emotional landscapes, and the ever-shifting identities of women within American society.

To close the 2017 Season, the Jungle presents its first holiday show - Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley - by Lauren Gunderson and Margot Melcon, directed by Christina Baldwin. Roundabout Theatre Company's Too Heavy For Your Pocket, by Jireh Breon Holder, opened officially on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at the Black Box Theatre in the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre (111 West 46th Street). The play will now run through November 26, 2017.

Harris Beattie, student at Central School of Ballet in London, is the first ever competitor to win all three top awards at the prestigious Gen e International Ballet Competition 2017. The competition, run by the Royal Academy of Dance, took place in Lisbon and concluded on 16th September at the city's Teatro Cam es.

The Moonlight Cultural Foundation and the Moonlight Youth Theatre announced today the cast and creative team for its upcoming production of Legally Blonde the Musical. This fabulously fun musical includes music and lyrics by Laurence O'Keefe and Nell Benjamin and a book by Heather Hach. Legally Blonde features direction and choreography by Evan D'Angeles, music direction by JD Dumas, and associate choreography by Chelsea Nicole Lapp. Performances run October 13 through October 21 at the Moonlight Amphitheatre in Vista.

Sometimes playwrights don't know when to quit and there's a situation where an incidental plot point becomes a major one because it's unnecessarily brought to the forefront again and again. Miriam Gonzales' The Smartest Girl in the World suffers from this problem and it's too bad because otherwise there is plenty to like in Imagination Stage's season opener.

Roundabout Theatre Company has announced a one-week extension to the Roundabout Underground production of Too Heavy For Your Pocket by Jireh Breon Holder now through November 26, 2017. The extension week will include three special performances reserved for NYC public school students.
