Main Street Theater is extending its run of the delightfully funny and endearing Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley by Lauren Gunderson and Margot Melcon. Remaining performances are now through Dec. 23 and include these specific dates and times: Thursdays Saturdays at 7:30pm; Sundays at 3:00pm; PLUS Sunday, Dec. 3 at 7:30pm and Wednesday, Dec. 20 at 7:30pm.

Following a wildly successful world premiere in December 2016, The Joffrey Ballet will present its newly reimagined holiday classic The Nutcracker by Tony Award-winning choreographer Christopher Wheeldon in 33 performances only, at the historic Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University in downtown Chicago at 50 East Congress Parkway, December 1-30, 2017.

The Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami (ICA Miami) opens the doors to its new permanent home in the Miami Design District on December 1, 2017. Marking the first U.S. project designed by Spanish firm Aranguren + Gallegos Arquitectos, the new 37,500-square-foot building launches with a bold inaugural program that reflects the museum's mission of championing new narratives in contemporary art and providing a platform for the exchange of art and ideas. With more than double the gallery space and a new outdoor sculpture garden, ICA Miami's new home enables the museum to present ambitious thematic surveys for the first time in its history, as well as to expand its commitment to mounting monographic presentations of emerging talent, commissioning site-specific and boundary-pushing works of art, and fostering new scholarship.

The Tony nominated musical WAITRESS, which will make a stop at the Marcus Center for a one week only run on January 2-7, has cast two young area actresses to take on the role of 'Lulu' during the Milwaukee engagement.

Ensemble Theatre Company (ETC) announces their new holiday show, Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley, a creation by Lauren Gunderson and Margot Melcon. Directed by Andrew Barnicle, this regional-theater hit is a sequel to Jane Austen's 'Pride and Prejudice', and reunites its characters to place the bookish middle sister, Mary Bennet, in the limelight. The production will debut today, November 30, and will run until December 17, 2017.

E. B. White's Charlotte's Web has been adapted in many ways. There was an animated movie musical back in the 70s, a live action film a few years back, and a stage adaptation that Theatreworks USA toured around the country for years. Imagination Stage in Bethesda is currently presenting the latter as its holiday attraction. The creative team takes a very heavy-handed approach to material that isn't that light to begin with, unfortunately.

In the spirit of the holidays, Shakespeare & Company announces four Berkshire beneficiaries for Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley, written by Lauren Gunderson and Margot Melcon, directed by Producing Associate Ariel Bock. Post-show collections from each performance will benefit a different local organization, including The Elizabeth Freeman Center, Pittsfield Boys & Girls Club, Hospice Care in the Berkshires, and The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts.

Running November 29 December 23, 2017 at Loyola University, Marquette Theatre, MISS BENNET reunites the characters of Pride and Prejudice, putting bookish middle sister Mary Bennet front-and-center.

After last year's sold-out performance, New Hampshire Theatre Project will once again celebrate the winter solstice with master storyteller Diane Edgecomb, Celtic harper Margot Chamberlain, and multi-instrumentalist Tom Megan. Join us on the longest night of the year for haunting legends of light, entertaining tales and traditional music and song. Spoken word and theatre artist Diane Edgecomb brings to life the ancient myths that reveal the deep meaning behind winter holiday traditions. Featured stories include the Scandinavian Legend of the Mistletoe, the Greek myth The Coming of the Days of Peace, the Cherokee tale of Evergreen, and humorous English Wassail traditions. Margot Chamberlain and Tom Megan accompany the tales with instrumental melodies along with traditional and original songs evoking the warmth of the season.

Capital Stage presents the Special Holiday Production and Sacramento Premiere of Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley by Lauren Gunderson and Margot Melcon. This instant holiday classic continues the story of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice and has delighted audiences since its premiere in 2016. Miss Bennet will be directed by Capital Stage Co-Founder Peter Mohrmann and is a special production in addition to the 2017/18 Season. Performances will run from December 6 - 30, 2017 with a Press Opening on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 8:00 pm.

The Acting Company presents their acclaimed production of playwright/poet Marcus Gardley's X: Or, Betty Shabazz v. the Nation in a full Off-Broadway run, January 14-February 18, 2018, at the Theatre at St. Clement's.

The Greater Fort Lauderdale CVB's Film, Music, Fashion & Create division will be celebrating the filmmaking community at the 2017 IFP Gotham Awards at Cipriani Wall Street on November 27, 2017.

The 33rd Film Independent Spirit Award Nominations were announced live today by Tessa Thompson and Lily Collins. The ceremony will air live on IFC on March 3rd. Nick Kroll and John Mulaney will return to host the event.

Theatrical Outfit has received a grant from the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, Inc. in the amount of $150,000 over a two year period to support the general operations of the Organization. The downtown professional theatre received the exciting news on October 25th, and was presented with the check by James Tobias, Major Gifts Officer at the Community Foundation, on Thursday, November 16th. In attendance at the formal presentation were Theatrical Outfit Artistic Director Tom Key, TO Board Chair Stephanie Watkins, TO Trustees Tommy Barrow, Charlie Henn, and Margaret Murphy, TO Assoc. Artistic Director Clifton Guterman, and TO Director of Communications and Development Tess Malis Kincaid.
