Prospect Theater Company will present the world premiere production of TAMAR OF THE RIVER, a new music theater work with music and book by Marisa Michelson and book and lyrics by Joshua H. Cohen. Directed by Daniel Goldstein (Godspell) and choreographed by Yin Mei, TAMAR OF THE RIVER will be the first production available through Prospect's new Membership Program.

Prospect Theater Company presents its annual gala, 2013's Spring Soiree, in the Harbor View Room at Battery Gardens, a beautiful and unique waterside location nestled at the southernmost corner of Battery Park. This special one-night only event will be held on Monday, May 6 from 6pm - 10:30pm, with an 8pm concert performance, to feature performances by Broadway friends as well as Prospect stars! Guests will be treated to a sneak peek of songs from upcoming 2013 - 2014 Prospect productions, as well as encore performances from previous Prospect shows. The evening's line up of writers includes work by Sam Carner and Derek Gregor, Marisa Michelson and Joshua H. Cohen, Peter Mills, and Ryan Scott Oliver, among others.

Jahn Sood's new folk opera The Disappearing Man received a concert reading at Joe's Pub on Monday, April 8th. A well-attended developmental reading of the musical that took place March 3rd at Shetler Studios marked the New York premiere of the show's latest incarnation, which featured significant revisions, including a new book and several new songs by Sood, as well as new orchestrations by music director Brian Cavanagh-Strong. On Saturday, March 23, over 500 business and arts leaders attended the Arts Council's 16th Annual Celebration of the Arts in Howard County Gala at Howard Community College's Peter and Elizabeth Horowitz Visual and Performing Arts Center in Columbia. This year's annual benefit gala raised $102,000, with an additional $110,000 in donated goods and services in support of the arts in Howard County. Since 1998, over $1 million has been raised through Celebration of the Arts!
