?Audacity Theatre Lab is pleased to announce the 2016 Dallas Solo Fest, June 2-12, 2016 at the Margo Jones Theatre in Fair Park.  Eight one-person shows highlight this third year festival with a mix of local solo performers and performers coming in from around the country. 

The Tony Awards Administration Committee announced today, April 19th that two-time Tony Award-winning lyricist Sheldon Harnick and multiple Tony-nominated director Marshall W. Mason will be this year's recipients of the Special Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre.

The Off-Broadway League today announced details for the 2016 Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway. The 31st Annual Lucille Lortel Awards will be handed out on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at NYU Skirball Center, beginning at 7:00pm EST. 

Berkeley Rep announced today it will present the world premiere of John Leguizamo: Latin History for Dummies. Written and performed by Leguizamo and directed by Berkeley Rep's Michael Leibert Artistic Director Tony Taccone, this limited engagement will run Friday, July 1-Sunday, August 14 in the newly renovated Peet's Theatre. Artistic Director Les Waters and Managing Director Jennifer Bielstein are delighted to announce that Sarah Ruhl's For Peter Pan on her 70th birthday will receive its world premiere at Actors Theatre of Louisville during the 40th Humana Festival of New American Plays.

Dallas Theater Center Artistic Director Kevin Moriarty announced today the theater's 2016-2017 season including two world-premiere musicals titled Bella: An American Tall Tale by Kirsten Childs, the co-lyricist of FLY; and the world-premiere musical Hood, a fresh take on Robin Hood by Douglas Carter Beane and Lewis Flinn. Also included in the 2016-2017 season are two of The New York Times Best Theater picks of 2015, Constellations and The Christians; the classic historical drama, Inherit The Wind; a reimagined Greek tragedy, Electra; the holiday classic, A Christmas Carol; and an exciting new work with a title to be announced. DTC's 2016-2017 season includes productions in the Potter Rose Performance Hall and the Studio Theatre at the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre in the AT&T Performing Arts Center and the Kalita Humphreys Theater on Turtle Creek.

Artistic Director Les Waters and Managing Director Jennifer Bielstein have announced the lineup for the 2016 New Voices Young Playwrights Festival, an evening of new ten-minute plays written by local high school students. The New Voices Festival runs from April 25 - 26 at 7 p.m. in the Bingham Theatre.

Actors Theatre of Louisville Artistic Director Les Waters and Managing Director Jennifer Bielstein are delighted to announce the three ten-minute plays chosen to be performed during the 40th Humana Festival of New American Plays.

Cincinnati Shakespeare Company continues its season with Jane Austen's "Emma" by Jon Jory. This production is directed by Kelly Mengelkoch. This production features Cincinnati Shakespeare's Resident Ensemble members including Courtney Lucien and Jeremy Dubin. Sponsors for this productions are LPK and Graydon Head.

Syracuse Stage begins 2016 with an irreverent comedy Stupid F***ing Bird, a contemporary mash-up of Anton Chekhov's modern classic The Seagull. Written by Aaron Posner and directed by Howard Shalwitz, the play comes to Syracuse Stage from the Woolly Mammoth Theatre in Washington, D.C. where it won two Helen Hayes Awards and performed to sold out houses.

The 2016 Apprentice/Intern Company evening of new ten-minute plays, THE TENS runs today, January 12, through January 16 in the Victor Jory Theatre at Actors Theatre of Louisville.

Les Waters, Artistic Director of Actors Theatre of Louisville, and Beth Davis, President of the Board of Directors, announced today that Jennifer Bielstein is departing after serving as Managing Director of Actors Theatre of Louisville for the past ten seasons. Bielstein has been named Managing Director of the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis, Minnesota, effective April 2016.

The MFA Musical Theatre Program at San Diego State University is once again teaming up with La Jolla Playhouse to develop a new musical, following up on their collaboration on the reading of BD Wong's new musical MR. DOCTOR last February. This year, after a competitive selection process, the musical ON THE EVE has been chosen for a public staged reading at SDSU tonight, November 19, 2015 at 6:30pm in the Experimental Theatre.

To create the most dynamic performance spaces for live theatre, music, and dance, Theatre Projects believes that their staff-from theatre designers to the accounting manager-needs to be fully engaged with what's happening in the arts today. Although their team spends hundreds of hours each week designing those spaces-meeting with users, planning and sketching, looking at drawings, reviewing construction progress, and testing equipment-they still find it important to connect with the art that inhabits those spaces and not just the buildings they design. Theatre Projects believes that extraordinary performance spaces aren't just a product of their design philosophy, they're a result of understanding what's currently happening in the arts and translating that into their work every single day. That has been their approach for almost 60 years, and it continues today.
