The Lakewood Playhouse will present its 6th ANNUAL "Special" JOINT PRESENTATON with its very own LAKEWOOD INSTITUTE of THEATRE - "THE VELVETEEN RABBIT" for 8 SHOWS ONLY! The famous story by Margery Williams is adapted for the stage for an amazing adventure for the entire family!! The Show will run from OCTOBER 25th through the NOVEMBER 4th and be performed on Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays at 7:00pm and Sundays at 2:00pm!

"Real isn't how you are made, but it's something that happens to you." Based on the award-winning children's book by Margery Williams, this world premiere musical follows the journey of a toy rabbit on its quest to becoming real. As a gift to a boy, the Velveteen Rabbit lives in a nursery surrounded by modern, mechanical toys. The rabbit is made to feel plain, but soon learns that there is much more to being "real" that outward appearances.

South Coast Repertory opens the 2018-19 Theatre for Young Audiences series with Nate the Great, Nov. 2-18.

The first of three Monday evening new-play readings at South Coast Repertory for the 2018-19 season will be Eureka Day by Jonathan Spector. The NewSCRipts reading on Monday, Oct. 22, at 7:30 p.m., is directed by Jennifer Chambers. Tickets are available at www.scr.org.

Pushcart Players' 44th Season presents "Velveteen Rabbit" at Plumstead Library Branch of the Ocean County Library in a free performance on Friday, March 16 at 10:30 am. Pushcart Players' 44th Season presents Velveteen Rabbit at United Way Theatre in Montclair NJ on Saturday, December 2 at 11:00 am. The performance is hosted by the Montclair Arts Alliance as part of the inaugural Montclair Arts Festival featuring theater, dance, visual arts, music, and opera.

ODC/Dance Joins 2017/18 Northrop Dance Season
