Connecticut Repertory Theatre presents SHREK THE MUSICAL

Connecticut Repertory Theatre (CRT) will stage "Shrek The Musical"  to close out the 2016-2017 season. Margarett Perry will direct. Performances will be held in the Harriet S. Dorset Theatre Festival's New Play Reading Series Presents Brian Dykstra's Employee of the Month

From the mind of actor, playwright, HBO Def Poet Brian Dykstra comes a play in which a middle-management woman who is being denied access to a staircase asks what the difference is between a staircase being 'out-of-service' and 'out-of-order. The underpaid security guard replies, 'You're not going to like my answer.' His response sets off a chain reaction that becomes a sly commentary on office politics, glass ceilings, income inequality and racism in Corporate America.

Nylon Fusion Theatre's COMES A FAERY Begins Tonight

Audience members must decide for themselves if a sinister Irish fairy is real or simply a scary manifestation of a lonely girl's psychology in 'Comes a Faery,' the newest play by James McLindon, which will be presented by Nylon Fusion Theatre Company from tonight, October 1, through October 24, directed by Shaun Peknic.

Dorset Theatre Festival to Offer Pair of Special Events This Month

Dorset Theatre Festival plans to produce two exciting special events on the Playhouse stage this month. Brian Dykstra, an actor, playwright, and HBO Def Poet currently playing Moriarty in the DTF production of Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Jersey Lily will perform his one man show Brian Dykstra Selling Out, directed by Sherlock director Margarett Perry, on July 14th at 8:00 PM. On July 19th, Howard Fishman, a Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter, will make his Dorset debut after sold-out performances at the Vermont Arts Exchange and The Flynn.

Winsor French, Cleveland Legend, Comes Alive at the Beck This Weekend

Tonight, August 23 and Saturday, August 24, WINSOR! A FEISTY CABARET, will be produced by The Musical Theatre Project and performed at the Studio Theater in the Beck Center for the Arts. The cabaret, with the performers seated on stools, will star Scott Plate and be directed by Victoria Bussert. The topic of the cabaret will be Winsor French.
